Here's a 007 Forever article on it:

I especially love the part about it being unsurprising that someone from Arkansas would want to kill themself. I've lived in the hellhole and the statement is all too true.

But now that it is...Good! I'm curious to hear what fans think of this book. What a treat for Bond fans. We're getting 3 books this year.
Hey, Mr. *. How about doing a banner for this book? I can send you color scans and a pic of Hatfield if you like.

I was thinking the same thing. You wouldn't happen to have Hatfield's mugshot from when he was arrested would you?

Zencat,
Frankly, I was a little bit disappointed with the book. The main reason is some passages ripped off from other Bond books. Almost the whole scene of M

About the stolen pieces...
A thought struck me: if the author wasn't squeamish about taking those paragraphs from the Bond novels, then there could be as well other pieces taken from other thrillers, non-Bond ones. The whole book could be just a literal jig-saw. What do you think?

It could be a very interesting game for a hard-core Bond fan: to find as much borrowed passages as possible:-)

The weirdest thing about THE KILLING ZONE is its striking similarity to LTK, which was made four years later. Very strange. Did Eon lift from Hatfield? or was this book written after 1989 and Hatfield made it look like it was "published" in 1985. A copy didn't surface until the mid '90s. There is still much mystery surrounding this book.Originally posted by Bondpurist
Well it sounds a bit like the film of YOLT in...certain parts. Anyway, I'm not a plot spoiler - more of a plot eliminator. Well, that time anyway.
