This summer I was in Switzerland and I went to the Schilthorn and Muren where I take some pictures of the place.
Enjoy them and tell me what is your impression (especially if you have already gone to the Piz Gloria).

Those are some fantastic shots, Bwanito. :cooltongue: I've sadly never been, but I know there are quite a few other CBner's who have made the trip.

How long were you there?

What happened to the pix?

EDIT: Nevermind--I see what happened, my web proxy at my office will not allow the photobucket images to display. Will have to check from home.

Qwerty, I was at Interlaken (near Muren and Schithorn) for four days (then i made a travel during one week from Interlaken to Zurich).
Here are some others pics. When I made a trip in this area i found the road used in "Goldfinger" (in the movie they said that it's a location near Geneva ??)

Brilliant pictures.

The Lazenby sketch is equally brilliant.

Did you get any hats or bags in that shot?

Can't remeber that they had that one when I was there

Yep, that's the Furka Pass. You can even spot the 'Belvedere' which can bee seen in GF.

Great Pics, Bwanito. Glad you enjoyed your stay

Bwanito! What a wonderful series of pictures you did make and I'm so glad you're sharing those with us. On Her Majesty's is the best Bond for me (although Spy is my favourite, since that was my first Bond and I watch it more often, but the Lazenby one is a better film)and it is still one of my dreams to have a visit to Piz Gloria too! Lovely pictures, makes me want to watch the film again, but I'll wait for Christmas!

Great pictures Bwanito! Do you or anyone else know how far Piz Gloria is from Lausanne?

Is a daytrip to Piz Gloria possible? Swiss railways are quite efficient from what i have been told.

Sharpshooter: There were some other collectible stuff like lighters, Patches, Pins, Glasses, Mugs or postcards (i have got some of them).

Byron: I think that the distance between Interlaken and Lausanne is about 250 kms (Interlaken is one of the city very near from the Schilthorn). A day trip to the Piz Gloria is perfectly possible (when you arrive, you have to take a ticket -60 CHF that can be used for 5 days- and then you can use the fourth cable-cars). It takes about one hour to go to the top (the last one to go down is at 6PM).

Thanks Bwanito. We are also going through France. I know there is a TGV connection from Paris to Lausanne but i don't know about Paris to Interlaken.

Those are all wonderful pictures. I would love to go there one day. It is a really beautiful location. It must have been awesome standing up where scenes of one of the best Bond films of all time were filmed.

I went to Piz Gloria/Schilthorn just under 2 years ago - what an experience. I haven't been to many Bond film locations, but I'm sure that this is the most spectacular. It is a wonderful location and a great place to visit. The views are amazing, and the Bond connection is cool as well.

Here is a blog article which I wrote about my trip and it includes some pix. I hope you enjoy them.

Beautiful pics!

I was there last fall. The day I went up was a white-out so there wasn't much of a view but it was still a great time.

You've hit the nail on the head there. It is a surreal experience. And add to that the natural beauty of the place-it's quite a combination.

Great shots from a great place! They really have improved it over the years. Thanks for them.

Your next venture should be to JAMES BOND ISLAND in Thailand. One of the most surreal places I have seen.

Is there a better Bond location?

I think not!
