Hi
I'm looking to expan my musical collection and as I couldn't sleep one night, I constructed a list of CDs that had caught my eye over the past few days.
I'm really into Dance/Trance and Electronica and this is the list that I came up with.

TRANCE MASTERS - *NEW UK RELEASE - VARIOUS

FISCHERSPOONER - #1 - EMERGE is a masterpiece but is the rest worth it?

ROB DOUGAN - FURIOUS ANGELS - I've heard so many great things about this and CLUBBED TO DEATH is definitely a favourite tune of mine.

MINISTRY OF SOUND - THIS IS TECH-POP - I've only seen this in one UK store and am told that it is a US only release. It features EMERGE and another of my favourites SUNGLASSES AT NIGHT by TIGA & ZYNTHERIAS

THE VERY BEST OF EUPHORIC DANCE *BREAKDOWN* - I have Volume 4 (the recent one with a |black and yellow cover) but what are volumes 1 - 3 like?

OAKENFOLD - BUNKKA - I've heard mixed views on this. Most say that it isn't worth it.

HARD TRANCE - NEW RELEASE

MINISTRY OF SOUND - ADDICTED TO TRANCE

UNDERWATER Episode 1 - MIXED BY DARREN EMERSON AND TIM DELUXE

Well that's my list for now. These are all the UK releass although I'm sure most of the other regions releases won't be too dissimilar.
I'm grateful of any guidance on which are HOT and which are NOT.

Regards

Tanger, do you have a reinforced steel scull? That kind of stuff would fry my brain.

mrmoon, there are some questions you should never ask.

It really depends on how loud you play it and the stereo settings you use. I generally pump up the base and let the good times roll.

OOPS, I've missed one off my list:

ROYSKOPP - MELODY A.M - REMIND ME is the only one i've heard off of here, but I caught snippets in the tv ad and the sounded great.
Rgds.

Me too, but I prefer to play music with great basslines (not this synthesised rubbish) :):).

Frankly, Rory, I'm offended that you could class Royksopp as 'synthesised rubbish,' I bought this CD on a whim way back in October, when it was released, and since I bought it, it has become a major feature in my extensive collection, the best thing that's happened to Wall Of Sound since Propellerheads, the album is astounding, it's chilled, distorts sound brilliantly, has a few nice dance tracks (Remind Me and Poor Leno spring to mind), but the highlight is definitely So Easy, heard recently in Big Brother and in the T-Mobile 'baby ads.'

BUY THE ALBUM, Tanger, and forget the rest of that synthesised rubbish (I despise trance music, and the other ****e commercial clubs roll out as "danceable")

Give me De La Soul anyday. :)

Thanks Paul. Melody A.M is now definitely on my 'GET IT' list.
I understand that this is a debut album, but already there is another called Melody F.M. What's this, a foreign release?

Also, is the re-released Fischerspooner CD worth it?

Melody FM? It must be a typo, Royksopp burst onto the scene back in October. The album was re-released on August 12 most probably to cope with the sudden surge in popularity after the T-Mobile advert, no difference between the two except a card sleeve for the CD case has been added.

I wholeheartedly give you that reccomendation. Royksopp should definitely be on your list! :)

I think it may have been a typo and has now been rectified. I can't find it at the moment.
And it was on my list along with Rob Dougan - Furious Angels which is supossed to be superb!

It was a typo. Look at the page:

http://www.amazon.co...7897798-0822012

It was an import. the cover says A.M yet the title says F.M. Also there's no track list.

OK I bought Roksopp yesterday and have listened to it all.

THIS IS THE ALBUM OF THE YEAR!!!

Every track is just fantastic there's not a bad one on there. My only jibe is that Remind Me isn't the version that I've heard on the radio. The one I originally heard had this whole section that went Re-mind, re-mind, re-mind me. Re-mind, -remind, re-mind me.' and it kinda sounds like he's saying 'All mine, all mine, all mine.' Was this a mix one th single?

Anyway it's still a fantastic CD and my favourite track has to be Eple. I also quite like the first one too. Was this the one used in the T-Mobile ad?

The next CDs I'm hoping to get are Rob Dougan - Furious Angels and Fischerspooner - #1. Any reviews for these would be welcome but I'll probably just get them anyway coz i've heard that both are stunning.

Ah yes, I recently bought the vinyl, and the track you're talking about (the version of Remind Me) is Royksopp's "Someone else's club mix," I think you'll also find it on the CD single.

Glad you like the album, it's one of my favourites, and is rarely out of my CD player! The track used in the T-Mobile ad is "So Easy", the first track on the album.

I think the album is really evocative, and I'm yet to find a dud track on it! It's really rare to find an album that you don't skip at least ONE track, the only other one I do that I think is my version of "Decksandrumsandrockandroll" by Propellerheads.
I can recommend Orbital to you too, Tanger, I recently discovered them, and am now hooked since I heard their excellent remix of the Doctor Who Theme. (At the moment I'm listening to "Insides")

Oh, and I to am thnking of buying Rob D's "Furious Angels", I bought both "Clubbed To Death" vinyls, and loved every remix on them! Can anyone recommend that album?

Good Stuff...

I'll think I'm just gonna go on and get the Rob D. CD. I love Clubbed To Death and also the title track Furious Angels. Apparantly it has just the right mix of Techno and dark orchestra.

I plan on getting mine from Play.com. It's only

I'm familiar with play.com, i used to buy all me Bond DVDs from there (when they weren't on bloody moratorium), thanks for the tip off, Tanger, I also love shopping for music at eBay, cos you can get some rare imports dirt cheap, for starters!

Which version of the Props CD did you get?

I recently bought off eBay (which I'm disatisfied with as it's all scratched and the first 30 secs of track 4 won't play!I don't know whether or not I should send my CD back to the seller and then buy the top one off Play.com It's just the last seconds of 3 and the first 30 of 4 are really jumpy and the player skips them). Mine has 13 tracks although I have seen one that has bonus tracks.
Which one do you have?

Also, the version of Spybreak! on the album isn't as good as one that I downloaded the other day which starts with a quick deck/scratch /whoosh goes straight into it. It doesn't have those wierd vocals as an intro.

These are two track listings I've found:

Take California
Velvet Pants
Better?
360 Degrees (Oh Yeah?) - (featuring De La Soul)
History Repeating - (featuring Miss Shirley Bassey)
Winning Style
Bang On!
Number Of Microphones, A
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Bigger?
Cominagetcha
Spybreak!
You Want It Back - (featuring Jungle Brothers)

And this one's mine:

1. Take California
2. Echo and bounce
3. Velvet pants
4. Better
5. Oh yeah
6. History repeating
7. Bang on
8. Number of microphones
9. On her Majesty's secret service
10. Bigger
11. Cominagetcha
12. Spybreak

"Bags and bags of honey machinery. I've never seen so many KNOBS."

"I swallowed one of these about 2 hours ago and it can only be described as..my hand.
"Everything it seemed was alright.
"Get outta that groove and you've had it
"The track is a groove
"Judgin it right thru the groove
"Ah but what if you get out of that groove?" " Well then I've had it"

Time to ressurrect this thread.

Does anyone hear listen to Euphoria. I recently got into these albums and they are quite simply the best music around. If you do decide to buy some of these albums definitely start with 'The Very Best of Euphoria' - Mixed by Matt Darey. These are the best tracks from the last 6 or so years and includes a great Dream mix of my favourite track of all time 'Children - Robert Miles'.

I recently bought White Label Euphoria too and this is so good it's scary. Never have I listened to an album of such quality. And after seeing the advert for White Label Level 2, I'm definitely gonna go out and snap that one up.

Tanger, I didn't see your posts before, have you bought Decksandrumsandrockandroll? I've got the Japanese 2 Disc edition. It's brilliant.

And the baby is on the "So Easy" CD single.

NOt too sure about your recent questions though, if you've got any other questions though, I could probably help you!

I bought Decksanddrums... ages ago off eBay but it was scratched to ******. The guy gave me a refund and let me keep the CD though which was generous of him. I think mine must be an early version. If you look above my tracklist is somewhere and I've compared it with a different version.

Also the Baby is from the T-Mobile ad and appeared on the So Easy single and Melody A.M shop display cases.
