I mean it would be interesting. A younger, more refreshing M would make it look very Blairite or even Cameronian. Imagine Bond taking orders from a person 2 or 3 years younger than him, with a personality mirroring Gene Hunt, or even in a softer way, David Cameron. If there ever was a younger M, i'd like to see Philip Glenister playing the role. I saw Phil in "State of Play", and he was quite spot on as a modern-day DCI, and more serious about the job than Gene Hunt. That's just how i'd imagine M would be. Or if there was a younger female M, why not Kelly MacDonald? She's sexy, and a romantic chemistry between Craig and her would be awesome.

I think this may be one of the worst ideas for Bond I have ever heard. Sorry.

I agree. Kelly McDonald as M would be horrendous. She's not the greatest of actresses, would look stupidly tiny against Daniel Craig on film and has no cache of authority which is one reason why Judi Dench was cast.

a younger M makes no sense. At least, not to me.

When I think of a female M, I just can't think of anyone else besides Dame Helen Mirren! she's almost perfect for the job. :cooltongue:

Actually you are right she is!!!!

Goodbye Judi!!

And why exactly is this photo of Helen Mirren the clincher for a part as M...?

I personally need more of an argument than she is - like Judi Dench - a Dame of the British theatre who holds herself well in her sixties...

Not sure any film - let alone a Bond film - should be cast because an actor is similiar to who went before.

Interesting, original idea. But to me the older M is one of the corner stones of the Bond myth. A younger M would be just a cheap gimmick. Also, it would highlight Bond as being old in some way... maybe it should have been tried out in OP/AVTAK?

A "more younger M"? Now that be good grammar! I ain't sure if a more younger M be a good idea. I be wanting a more older M, like the more older M's that be before with Connery, Moore, etc. And, I must admit, I likes it to be a guy again.

See y'all later... :cooltongue:
