Just got an email from BN.com telling me my DR. NO and GOLDFINGER shipped today. CASINO ROYALE is due to ship tomorrow. As soon as I get them I'll post my thoughts.

I didn't think they would be shipping so soon. I better order myself a copy of them!

And I still haven't ordered them...

I'll go check out B&N Friday and if they don't have them in yet I'll order them. I really can't wait to get my hands on these things.

I got my copies of the first three Bond novels yesterday and I can't say enough about them. I am 200% pleased with what Penguin Putnam did with the novels. The covers are beautiful and they even have a strange texture which beckons you to hold them. The title page of the book just drips "cool." Bond fans have been asking for these for such a long time and I definately think it was worth the wait. Putnam definately listened to the fans on these books. I can't say enough about them!

I can't tell you how excited I am about these. Putnam can't release the next batch fast enough for me.

Amazon still shows a "September 2002" shipping date. I'm telling ya, BN.com has been much more on top of things lately, and it's free shipping on more than one book.

BTW, if anyone here is going to be at the Bond Collectors Weekend in San Francisco and hasn't pre-ordered the books yet. I may have the books for sale at a cheaper price than anywhere online or I might have some free copies to give away.

Hold a copy a CASINO for me, Jordan. That'll be one of the gifts I bring back for my girlyfriend.

Has anyone else noticed how much the representation of Vesper on the cover of CASINO ROYALE looks a lot like the girl in "Mulholland Drive?"

What a perfect way to alleviate the pain of ending my summer break...

Got my books today and they are beautiful! Mccartney007 is right, their "strange texture" is very appealing. These are going into the main shelf right next to my Fleming firsts and my signed Benson's.

Wouldn't it be great if they released a set of hardcovers in this style?

What did I tell you Zencat? I think we are two peas in a pod when it comes to the novels! I don't think I've been so excited about a re-release yet.

And I'd like to see a set of hardcovers done in this style as well.
