Just received word that the next batch of Fleming/Penguin reprints (the cool American editions) are coming in Jan. '03. The books will be MOONRAKER, FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE and DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER.
Got this info by emailing Penguin...and they actually emailed be back! I've gotten so use to James Bond.com ignoring me that it was a shocker to ask a question and actually get an answer.

Wow, you could actually find their e-mail address? Now that's impressive! I hunted for it, couldn't find the sodding thing
But thanks for the news, I'll totter off now and report it

I cannot wait to see the cover for From Russia With Love. So I take it they'll be released in 4-5 month intervals until completion?

They're a little hard to describe, just know that they're in the same "retro" style as the last three and are going to look amazing as a set. Hopefully Amazon will have the covers up some time soon. My only complaint is, why Penguin is waiting so long to release them? I wish they would released all the books at the same time like they did in the UK.

I made this point when the covers of the first 3 books were unveiled, and I think it's worth repeating here.
I say the artwork on these US editions represent a major milestone in the history of Bond. This is first time James Bond has been deliberately SENT BACK IN TIME. Know what I mean? Up until now every release of the books (even the new UK editions) have gone out of their way to conteporize Bond with their cover art and design or negate time by leaving Bond in silhouette. But these books boldly state that these James Bond adventures are very much set in the world of

I bought the new edition of Dr. No just this week, and it isn't only the artwork that's retro--it's the paper! It has a pulpy feel and smell to it, and if everything wasn't so slick and shiny (and if I hadn't paid thirteen bucks for it!) I'd swear it was manufactured in 1958. Here's looking forward to the next three. . .and the next. . .and the next. . .
