Following the recent Hollywood trend for turning classic films and small-screen series into blockbusters, the pair will reprise the international playboy roles made famous by Roger Moore and Tony Curtis.
As one of the biggest cult television series of the 1970s, it commanded high viewing figures on both sides of the Atlantic. And with two of the most bankable leading men on board, there will be much pressure on the

Here's a poster I never finished quite a few years back (that's why it's so rough) and I've often flashed on this board a few times:

I hope it's true, but it sounds like a producer telling of his dream cast rather than an actual one to me!
Would Clooney really want to do another glamour-based escapist film whilst teaming up with another handsome male star? A bit close to the 'Ocean's' movies, isn't it?

There really was nothing special or remarkable about the Persuaders outside of the wonderful on-screen chemistry of its two stars, which is the sort of thing you cannot predict, script or force to happen...it's either there or it isn't. Without it, this is just a show about a crime-fighting odd couple...one of hundreds of variations on a very old theme.
I wish them luck, but honestly I don't think they're going to catch lightning in a bottle a second time.

This is why I keep finding it hard to believe anybody is so hot on making a Persuaders film. It's a show fondly remembered by a few people, especially Moore fans. I'd doubt it even really qualifies as a cult hit since it doesn't have a real intense following, as The Avengers or The Prisoner do, although there are a couple of really nice Persuaders fan sites.Frankly, I can't see this working with anyone but Curtis + Moore.

This sounds a bit too good to be true, to be honest. They're the only ones I could see doing it, which is why it seems a bit too obvious. That's not a bad thing, and I'd love to see them do it, but it just seems a bit fishy.

Fantastic poster. I would reverse Clooney and Grant so their names match. That's a pet peeve of mine when the names at the top don't match the position of the actors in the poster.

Clooney and Grant would be the better choice that the previous two. But I agree with David. It was Rog and Tony's chemistry that made this series successful, and not really the content/format. They were both allowed to improvise and act as themselves but keeping a within their characters.
I say. Get Rog and Tony back together for this movie for one last time.
Cheers,
Ian

I like Clooney and Grant better than Stiller and Coogan but this seems like somebody just reporting a fanboy's wishes. I hope it's true though.

Much better casting choice than Steve Coogan and Ben Stiller.
