I'm glad you made that independent, uninfluenced observation. There are folks that just insist that he's too thuggish, ungentlemanly, "street," etc., to be Bond. But look, he's practicing some of the best manners we've ever seen from this character! Standing up when a lady leaves the table...yep, sounds like a thug to me. Laz hit it on the head..."He's a nice bastard."

Excellent point!He says thank you as if he has an expectation of getting exactly what he wants though.. some of those thank yous were down right threatening

I do hope that version of the scene sees light of day on some future version of the DVD.There's another scene, that was cut from the film, where Bond tidies up the office after killing Dryden. A "clean kill" as Bond puts it.
