I wanted to know this too. Especially what Connery thought of CR.
Well, Connery DID suggest that he play Bond's dad in "BOND 22".

I remember Pierce Brosnan posting something on his official website a few weeks (months?) ago that he hadn't seen the film yet, but wanted to.
I seem to recall him saying he saw it more recently than that. I believe he said it was great, but .. I can't find a source. Too hard to search for.

Yes, he did. He also said "It will cost them (EON)".

But I thought "Casino Royale" (as well as Fleming's literary canon) established that both of Bond's parents are dead.I wanted to know this too. Especially what Connery thought of CR.

I remember because there was a post in this forum and everyone complimented what a classy guy Brosnan was for saying that.

It's the same reason why ex-Presidents don't criticize current Presidents. It's sort of an unspoken etiquette. Their own gravitas and mystique depends upon the continuation of the might and majesty of the "franchise" of the U.S. Presidency.
Of course, it is also very likely that the ex-Bond actors are all decent chaps and know how hard it is to play Bond and genuinely don't see anything to criticize.

Anyway, it seems we have insight into what three of the former Bonds thought of CR, but I'd still very much like to know what Connery and Lazenby have to say.

It's a silly rumour that doesn't die.

Yes, former Bond actors tend not to criticise new Bonds, but didn't Lazenby do just this very thing when Brosnan got the role? I seem to recall an article ten years ago where Lazenby thought Bosnan's Bond was too much of a wimp, and that nobody would even notice him if he walked into a room, let alone be threatened by him (just paraphrasing, of course).
I remember this as well. I seem to remember that Brosnan also criticized Laz's performance. I don't know which one started the feud.

I also remember that Daniel Craig said his favourite Bond movie is FRWL, and it is mine too.

Tell that to former Presidents Carter and Clinton.

This does not happen between British prime ministers - they are vocal in their hatred of other PMs (except at a former PM's funeral).
Also Americans respect the President a lot more than the British respect the Prime Minister. The PM gets a barrage of abuse when he goes to visit somewhere, whereas the American PM gets flags waved at him and handshakes.

It's always interesting to read former 007's comments.
I also remember that Daniel Craig said his favourite Bond movie is FRWL, and it is mine too.
I believe FRWL is also Connery's and Dalton's favorite Bond film.

Ike was critical of JFK. No former President has a corner on keeping their mouth shut. On balance, Clinton and Bush the elder get along well and are friends. I can assure you that would not be the case if Clinton was going out of his way to be critical of his son. Anytime Clinton is asked questions about W and his policies, he goes out of his way to try not being critical. W sends his Dad and Clinton on humanitarian trips together. Now Senator Clinton is another matter. But she is running for the office. Having worked for politicians myself, I know that behind the scenes they give each other winks in private before being critical in public. That is part of the game.

Brozza's is Casino Royale.I wonder what PB and RM's fav is?
Nah, it's probably Goldfinger.
It's a little-known fact that it was the first film he saw when he arrived in London from "the bogs of Oirland."

Martin Campbell explained:- "We really wanted to have the double-taking pigeon from Moonraker in the final film, but there just wasn't room. I may put it in another version of the DVD or something if I can be bothered. I am too busy making little outfits for my Star Wars figures right now.
The scene involved the pigeon deep in conversation with the leech from Octopussy, at a Venice cafe. It was a beautiful scene. Sadly it ended up on the cutting room floor along with all my empty McDonalds' boxes and alien drawings..."

PB always mentions Goldfinger as a favourite because it was the first one he saw on arriving in North America
Nope, he saw it at Leicester Square, in London.

Lazenby will call Craig a poufter and challenge him to a duel.
Moore will really really like CR, and really really like Craig as Bond, and really really like what the interviewer is wearing, and really really like...
Dalton will give Craig two thumbs up and chat him up for a production of the Scottish play.
Brosnan will praise CR and Craig, then 6 months later complain that it really wasn't what he'd hoped it would be, and he really wasn't satisified with his input on the production and the script, and really be looking forward to the new one being edgier, and call Babs a cow.

During a recent telephone interview on Radio Five Live's breakfast show Roger Moore was asked if he had seen Casino Royale. He replied that he had seen it on DVD and thought both the film and Daniel Craig were terrific.
Yeah I heard this. He sounded like he was blown away by Daniel Craig's performance.
