Hello, I was asked to write a response essay about a movie, so I decided to write it about Casino Royale, but the only thing is, I've already run out of ideas, so I was hoping you could help me out. If this is prohibited I'm sorry I didn't mean to do it, and if there is another topic somehow similiar to this, please redirect me to it.
So if you could enlight me with your reasons of why is casino royale a great movie, and daniel craig a fantastic Bond, I'd appreciatte it greatly.

Thanks.

Casino Royale is such a good film because it digs into the character of James Bond properly and not just gliding over the surface with the odd tacked on "character" scene among a barrage of crummy and silly action and gadgets. The stunts are real and actually impressive feats, not just CGI tack that looks fake and is frankly dull. Also seeing Daniel Craig doing some of the stunts on camera for real gives the whole thing that extra buzz and satisfaction.

The black and white, violent pre-title sequence was inspired, echoing the cold war and showing that, yes, James Bond is a Double-O for the secret intelligence service who actually kills people, and killing people is not something to be taken lightly.

Bond is also a spy, and as a spy he has to investigate large black markets and underworld groups. He actually has to work and spy on people, not get sent to some far off place with a massive military base to be some kind of magic 1 man SAS task force. If Bond ever gets into scrtapes where he ends up blowing something up etc it's because he has investigated too far and got himself captured and has to fight his way out. It really annoys me in films like Goldeneye where M tells him "I want you to find Goldeneye, find who took it, what they plan to do with it and stop it!"..this isn't the work of spies, the investigation and deviousness is but the whole idea of sending Bond to stop WWIII or some massive crisis all by himself is nonsense. He ends up doing so often in the books but not because that was his job in the first place.

Anyway, back on topic, CR also revives the real sumptuous style and elegance of the piece which has been missing for a long time thinking about it. Compare the crummy Ice Palace scenes to the gorgeous and atmospheric scenes in the Casino Royale and Hotel Splendide for example.

Finally, one of my favourite aspects of Casino Royale is seeing Bond as a human being actually having to deal with the consequences of parts of his job. Washing the blood from himself and drinking whisky - comforting Vesper in the shower, the great little scene after the latter with Mathis where we see them dealing with the bodies. These kinds of scenes are pure gold, and the success and massive popularity of the film proves that audiences prefer this over the previous films. It's all down to doing it well with a good story and the right kind of quirkyness to the characters etc to give the grittier realism in the plot that James Bond twist.

It's great as a film, pleasing movie goers and it's also straight from Fleming's pages/character so it's even more pleasing to proper Bond fans, of which there are countless numbers of.

It's just a damn good film, only let down by too much blatant advertising like the Rolex/Omega line, the ridicuous amount of close-ups on Sony products and the Ford car and also the odd bit of action which lacks character and detracts from the story and intruigue. The free running based sequence was superb however, it had real character, looked impressive throughout and felt like a generally passionate and well written scene.
