Do I remember right, that Pearson did ignore Amis' Colonel Sun in the book? Wonder why.

No, Pearson mentions Colonel Sun.

Presumably, in Pearson's world, Amis was enlisted by MI6 to keep up the rouse regarding Bond that forms the concept of the "Authorised Biography"

It will probably never happen but would it be a bad idea letting someone else pick up the thread and write a sequel. John Pearson has ruled out himself, but could you see some other potential writer make a good job here?

Pity John Pearson is ruled out. Would be great to read a sequel to JB: TOB. He's a wonderful writer and did a great job with The Life of Ian Fleming. I thoroughly enjoyed both his novels. Better than Gardner and ten times better than Benson (imho).
