BTW, this is nothing but fan art.
It's much more than a piece of fan art, McCartney007. It is the most successful April Fools prank on these forums, making it nearly the whole day with out being challenged publicly.
The art is mine, created as a layout to try to sell to one of the publishers of Bond books. The prank however is not. I'm pretty sure I know who JayKay is (I have only sent this file to a few people without a mr* watermark). I don't think I'll tell who I think it was, but I'll just say good show JayKay. I was laughing at this all day long.

You've got my compliments on the artwork. I think it's much better than the artwork they are going to use. Heck, even Raymond likes it!

Thank you sir.
And if Raymond would care to tell me who to contact, I could see what I could do about creating some nice future Bond book covers (or even the paperback of THE MAN WITH THE RED TATOO.) ;D

Cruel joke! I was looking at my Benson shelf all day imagining how nice this jacket was going to look on the end.Mister Asterix (02 Apr, 2002 05:23 p.m.):

But seriously, this design is breathtaking Mr. *, you're very talented. I do think Glidrose should consider it for the paperback, or, better yet, how about commissioning you to do new jacket art for all 6 original Benson books and then re-release them in a signed and numbered limited edition set. I would shell out some serious cash for this. If Glidrose wants to exploit the Bond franchise, THIS is how they should be doing it, not by re-releasing the old Fleming books in paperback with lazy cover art. I wonder if someone else could do it, like The Mysterious Press (who did the Gardner LTK special set).

And zencat, I like all of your ideas. I have been working out layouts in my head for all of Benson's books in this style. If anyone would care to e-mail me and tell me who I should contact to try to sell this cover to Glidrose or any of the publishers, I would appreciate it.
(I'm still blushing)

Actually, the tattoo covers 80% of said person's body, back and front, so the cover works fine.mccartney007 (02 Apr, 2002 01:01 a.m.):

Also, I think I see a nipple so unless this guy is a freak the tattoo is on his chest!
Having already read the book I can tell you that the tattoo is on said person's back. Although I do agree that it does look like there is a nipple there.

Very exicted about this bit in the article. I'd love to have that sucker wrapped around my Red Tattoo. (er, so to speak)

Hey, Mr. A, perhapes you could sell your excellent cover art to the publisher of the large print editions, Chivers Press. Looks like you can contact them via their website: http://www.chivers.co.uk/about.aspMister Asterix (03 Apr, 2002 07:11 p.m.):
