wow, I had no idea that THIS was the next Madonna project....sorry I guess I stepped into the Madonna forums and not the Bond forums......she's not a major part of the cast and when you all see her ugly mug on screen then she'll get her recognition...she will not get credit for a CAMEO....

Ugly mug? I think Madonna is quite attractive, even now she's still quite the looker. Not sure where all this hate stems from though, I've never had anything against her, I think her music is good, her acting is great, and I just dont see where the hate comes from.

no hate, just an annoyance that she seems to be overshadowing Bond who is the star......but I don't think she can act well nor do I think she's attractive...

Overshadowing Bond? Bond is the star of the film, Madonna will have a cameo which will amount to a few minutes onscreen. There is no evidence to support that she is overshadowing Bond.

I'm not trying to single you out rafterman when I talk about the "hate of Madonna" and such. There are just a lot of people ready to hate the theme song of DAD simply because Madonna is singing it, and I really wish people would wait to hear it before passing judgement on it.

I'll start off by saying I don't personally find Madonna attractive. But that's not the point.

Madonna's cameo according to all I've been told includes;
1) No dialogue
2) Two seconds of screen time.

And yes a cameo Ronnie, by it's nature it's a secret wink and the audience. Secret winks aren't credited!

Finally, do you really think it's necessary to come here and call people offensive names? If you want to speak like that, go elsewhere.

Madonna's character isn't a lesbian in Die Another Day, that's just some stupid tabloid rumour.

Why is this suddenly become the I hate Madonna thread? let's just put this to bed boys. Madonna is world Icon, just deal with that fact and move on.However "brief" her cameo may or may not be is'nt really the point, she brings a great deal to this film, and the producers know this! I don't care what people feel or may believe, but the fact that she is in it at all will increase the films market and visibility to no end... "ronnie" was right when he said Bond is'nt that big here in the states, and having people like Madonna and Halle Berry in the film can only help the box office. Btw she is bigger than Bond, she's a "REAL" person.

if this comes down to a fight over who's cooler I'll go with Bond over Madonna and I'm American...the song will probably be good, I'll wait and see, but I still don't like her and it annoys me that someone who is such an insiginificant part of the film is being touted as something that will bring in more people for the movie...maybe, maybe not, but the last three did just fine without the help of a pop singer showing up for two seconds to satisfy her ego..

You don't have to like her,and if you think a "fictional make believe character is cooler, that's just great. I prefer my icons to be flesh and blood.:)

I think the biggest question most people have is whether or not Jerry Mathers will be listed as playing The Beaver in the opening credits.

What gets my goat is all this press release stuff about what a coup it is having Madonna sing the title song.
Is she doing this job out of generosity? No, EON/MGM threw a ton of cash at the do-anything-for-money-dancing-monkey and her agent said yes.

If EON had asked her back in the 80's, before she went all respectable, it would have been a daring choice and I'd have been impressed. But this is 2002 and Madonna's wearing her safe, establishment face.

Besides, Austin Powers got her first. Bond shouldn't be lumbered with some other spy's cast-off

Blue Eyes, does the call sheet actually list billing order? I would find that hard to believe.

Remember everyone that the credits are one of the last things to be put on the film. They are probably not done yet, heck they're probably not even started (filming-wise, that is). I am sure that with Halle Berry's Oscar win she will be billed second in the opening credits and in the U.S. poster campaign. Stephens may take the second slot in the U.K. poster campaign, hence the second spot on the call sheet. I seem to recall seeing on the site the cast listed in the order I've been guessing, that is Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry, Toby Stephens, Rosamund Pike, and Rick Yune. I'm thinking Will Yun Lee could get a sixth credit the way Robbie Coltrane did in GE. Possibly.

Albert R. Broccoli's EON Productions Ltd. Presents

PIERCE BROSNAN

as Ian Fleming's James Bond 007 in

DIE ANOTHER DAY

Starring
HALLE BERRY

TOBY STEPHENS

ROSAMUND PIKE

RICK YUNE

WILL YUN LEE
MICHAEL MADSEN
ANNA EDWARDS
EMILIO ECHEVARRIA

SAMANTHA BOND
JOHN CLEESE
COLIN SALMON

And
JUDI DENCH
as "M"

The Anna Edwards credit rests on whether or not IMDB is correct (which it probably isn't) in naming Anna Edwards as the Scorpion Girl.

There, how does that look?

I don't really care if she's second or third, so long as it's not an above the title billing, they've never done that for anyone but Bond and if I remember right, Sean didn't even get above the title billing for Dr. No...

Why do you people care whether she gets screen credit or not? we're all just faceless members of the audience, this should be out of everyone's realm of concern.

my above post was about Halle, not the big M, she gets credit, we're just obsessively curious fans who think about things like what order the credits will be in, kind of why we spend so much time on boards like this....but I don't really understand why this shouldn't be our concern, it's about Bond, it's of interest to us, maybe it's not up to us, fine, but we still do care about every little thing...

Am I the only person worried that we have too much time on our hands?

I mean, stay sane people! When you start asking (and more to the point attempting to answer!) the question of 'What order will the names appear in the credits?' then surely you need to ask yourself a few questions.

Completely disagree Tanger. Why not discuss the elements? A lot of people don't want to discuss the plot, they don't want to know it. It's only fair that they have an element of Die Another Day to discuss.

Yes, Tanger, as the guy who started this thread I have to say that (a) I am sane, and (:) I don't have nearly as much time on my hands as I'd like. Darn it, this is a James Bond fansite, and any criticism is surely a bit rich coming from someone with 800-something postings to his name!
