Probably in the wrong section, and if it is, I'm sure the mods will move it.

Question on IMDB:

Given the success of Casino Royale, do you think another remake of an Ian Fleming novel is in order?

Yes, by all means, redo Dr. No, Goldfinger, etc.
No, source a script from another writer.
As long as Daniel Craig stars as Bond, I don't care either way.
I have no opinion.

I voted for this. While I am against remaking the films themselves, I'm all for using bits of the novels as the source and combining unused elements from them.

I'm leaning towards 'no opinion.'

Heavy discussion about this in Remaking movies and readapting novels in Bond 23 & Beyond.

Agreed. I really don't want to see updated versions of all of Fleming's stories. They did a decent job with CR, but I think that had they spent less time updating it for 2006 and instead spent more time on making the film more solid and less disjointed as it really feels like 2 films (and, IMO, the first hour of the film, save the PTS, could have been left out and the film probably would have been stronger for it). I don't really want to see that kind of updating for all of Fleming's stories. All they need to do is take the storyline from CR and continue to follow that. I think that forcing a Fleming plotline onto the natural progression of CR's storyline would be a mistake.
