I think the record they were talking about was a pretty specific movie stunt.

I believe you are correct that the record is very specific to the type of roll, the use of a cannon, and that the rolls are done in one take (as opposed to multiple takes spliced together to give the appearance of more rolls).
And BTW, I really doubt that 37.5 rolls is even possible, that's most likely a seriously edited video. Unless it's rolling down a hill or offa cliff...

Agreed. I wouldn't think such a record of 37.5 times would be overlooked if it actually did qualify.

Rest In Peace, we hardly knew ye.Double agreed. I believe they specifically mention the record for number of rolls using the air connon. A most excellent stunt, indeed. Poor Aston Martin.

You know, the thought just struck me.....Rest In Peace, we hardly knew ye.Double agreed. I believe they specifically mention the record for number of rolls using the air connon. A most excellent stunt, indeed. Poor Aston Martin.
What if....Barbara/Micheal/Danjag/MGM/EON/Sony had some inside knowlege of the upcoming sale of Aston Martin by Ford?????
I guess that would be the proper send-off, eh? The 'ol scuttle the ship syndrome??

Ahhhh, but I remember that before CR broke the record, it belonged to a German woman who rolled her car on the Autobhan which was captured by CCTV.
Thus, the record is not specific to movies or set-up stunts, but it IS one take, that is; un-interrupted, continuous and un-edited and it relates to any car roll.
The moving image is merely evidence of this.
I've read several articles that indicate that the previous record of 6 was held by the TV show 'Top Gear' for a stunt they did.

All the better for it. Was nice to see a little less of the cars in each new Bond film in my opinion.

If this hasn't been posted yet I may pop it in a new thread, but for the time being here's a great piece about the crashed ones:

I'd say this would be good for the Quick News Submission thread, and a hit on the front page.

now did u get that straight off the documentary?
Well, it might be in the documentary, but look on the internet, even Wikipedia mentions the record being with a cannon.
