Of course in retrospect I know it was Mr. White, but to have such a minor character re-appear after about 100 minutes and shoot the primary antagonist is more than a little sudden.

Fair point. It was all quite sudden. Especially as you expect the "main villain" to last right until the end.

But it was also a great moment - because then we really realised that Le Chiffre is nothing compared to "The Organisation".

I'd have thought someone as high-ranking as White appears to be would have sent a minion to do the deed. This is where the film jumps the shark.

Well Mr. White can't really be that important anyway - he's just a peon for the big guys otherwise why would he have gone to Africa to introduce and vouch for Le Chiffre to the Warlord? And why did he have to hang about in Venice hovering over the money like a bank security guard? No, Mr. White is a little fish.

Well, the Organisation (if there really is to be one) might have a structure similar to the SPECTRE, with one mastermind neo-Blofeld at the helm and a bunch of "numbers",like mr. White. They could be named after different collours - mr Black, mr Green or mr Blue (would that make "number one" - mr CMYK or mr RGB? :cooltongue:)
And just like in Connery Bonds in the final sequence it's the "number" who fights the Bond - Kronsteen, Bund, Largo, etc.

Anyway, Wade, Purvis and Haggis did a wise thing - the story is both self dependant and, at the same time, it can be continued further on.

Well one thing is for sure, Mr. White is kicking himself in the [censored] for not killing Bond when he he took the money!

Yeah but he's only got one good leg by the time the credits roll.

Mr. White may be Mr. Paleandlifeless by the end of the pre-title sequence in Bond 22!
