use of the name of the company Zorin Industries? I noticed a disclaimer in the movie that the similarities to any other company was just a coincidence. I ask that because I own stock in a semiconductor technology company called Zoran.

From the IMDB:

The disclamer, "Neither the name Zorin nor any other name in this film is meant to portray a real company or actual person" was added after producers discovered a real company run by a person name "Zoran."

There used to be a disclaimer for the Red Cross at the beginning of The Living Daylights, as well, but it wasn't on the SE DVD.

Did that one turn up on the UE disc?

The mid-late '80s was a strang era when it came to disclaimers. It was a bit strange going to the cinema, seeing the MGM lion and expecting the Bond theme and gunbarrel immediately following only to get disclaimers in AVTAK and TLD.

And does anybody remember the surgeon general's warning against smoking in the end credits of LTK?

I understand there was a meeting of Hollywood execs recently talking about slapping an R rating on anything showing smoking. I know it's not a popular thing to do in this country right now, but come on.

Really? I had a VHS edition for several years and don't remember it being on there.

It was on the original full screen VHS version released here in the UK, but it wasn't on the widescreen edition, or the DVD.

I've got a copy of it here somewhere, though. If I can dig it out, I'll post a screen cap of it. :D

Were they making up for OHMSS?

Yeah, that could be it, Triv! :cooltongue:

Yes, there was definitely a disclaimer about the Red Cross on my (UK) version.

A reference, surely, to Draco's men pretending to be Red Cross workers when they attacked Piz Gloria.

I vaguely remember a health warning played in my local straight before THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH. It was something about a sudden reaction audience members may have which might see them kicking the back of seats in anger and storming from the venue spouting demands of "I want my money back...".

If it was shown before TWINE, it was surely a senior moment on behalf of the elderly projectionist at your local who put it up by mistake. The sign you mention was actually manfactured in 1985 and only ever intended to be displayed before AVTAK...

Actually that sign was first produced in 1971.

And it's the same one they used in 1969.

Yes, I remember seeing that disclaimer in the movie theater back in '87.
