Having watched the extras on the disc this morning I feel let down. There's no commentary or a bloopers reel, not even the damn screen trailers! Considering it's a 2 disc edition it's left me shaken and stirred. What a let down! I'm so glad I only paid

Well on the CBn main page, check out the interview regarding Martin Campbell, and he says that another version of CR on DVD is on the way with more extras!!

Yes the studio milks us, but for some new bits and pieces, who cares!

IMHO, this should have been a single disc release, and then when they want to milk us later they could have gone for a 2-disc set...

Exactly! Compared to the other movies this dvd is awful. Why call it a 2-disc collector's edition when it obviously isn't?!!

Seems pointless to have two discs now anyways. I would think all of it could have fit onto one.

You can fit a better quality picture on a disc with fewer extras. Not saying this is the case with the CR release but it's what the whole 'Superbit' thing was about.

Oh come on guys! Why are you trying to justify this latest offering? This dvd release is crap end of story. I've already paid twice to see this at the cinema. The only reason I got the dvd was for the extras and to put it in laymans terms There are none!!

I guess I got lucky, as I picked up a Casino Royale that came with a second disc with about 105 minutes of additional material on it.

Who gets DVDs for the extras alone? I watch the movie over and over, the extras I see maybe once.

So you are quite happy that there's not even a cast commentary? :cooltongue:

The film is superb, but the DVD package sucks. To top it off, there is no reversible cover to make it fit with either the UE dics or the SE discs. To make matters even worse, there isn't even a bloody booklet!

Depends if you think 'Bond Girls are Forever' is ever worth re-watching. And I watched 'For Real' and 'Becoming Bond' enough times when they were on telly last year.

We all know we are getting milked for even more cash in the fall of 2008 when Bond 22 comes out so enough said on that end. There are two discs in this edition because of perceived value in the average consumer's mind. While there is more than enough space on one DVD to make everything fit comfortably (especially in this case), people just think two discs are a better value than one even if the content is exactly the same. If quality is an issue, make it a flipper disc (movie on one side & the extras on the other). Those are pretty much history because of the perception issue.

Very very disappointed. But I am excited for the re-release of Casino Royale... but I am not excited to spend money on it. I hate being milked. Ugh!

I am very disappointed in the "special features" on the 2nd disc. And I agree with other posters, that there shouldn't have even been a second disc. I was hoping for a commentary, deleted scenes, and some more info about the making of Casino Royale. *sigh* But Sony will be milking us soon enough! not excited to reach into my empty wallet when that happens! :cooltongue:

I enjoyed the Becoming Bond & James Bond: For Real segments. Although for me, it was the first time I saw each of them. The Bond Girls Are Forever had about 5 minutes of new CR footage. Definitely not worth watching the whole thing again. The music video was ok. It was good to see a decent quality version of it as I only saw the one on Cornell's MySpace page.

Well. After all the product placements that appeared in the film, maybe Sony assumed that you haven't got time for anything else than to play with their gadgets. :cooltongue:

It's a little bad considering most modern films comes with hours of 'extras'.

We're going to have to wait till the Georgi Locus edition becomes available when he purchases the franchise in 2039.

I liked the free time they created by having 8 minutes of extras instead of the hours we have grown accustomed to.

Very efficient. :cooltongue:

Its nice to have BGAF officially available on DVD, IMHO. Those two other documentaries never aired in the USA so its all new stuff to me.

Really garbarge. Not only the lack of commentary, the lack of trailers, commercials, storyboards, and deleted scenes, but it's really weak on general Bond material. Just "Bond Girls Are Forever" which has been around for a year. Previous DVDs gave us bios of Cubby Broccoli and Ian Fleming, information about stunts in all movies, all of this great material that reached beyond the individual film.

The extras as they currently are, are fine with me. I watched them once. That's plenty.
As to commentaries, who needs them? With all the DVDs I have, I have listened to a commentary once, and that wasn't even all the way through the movie. Getting the consumer market used to hours of extras is just a marketing ploy. If I have a choice between a $10 disc of the movie alone or a $20 package with extras, I'll opt for the cheaper of the two. All I need is the movie.

With cameos from MooMoo I suspect.

Let's face it. Sony knew the DVDs would sell how ever bare they made them, and they'll spark the interest back when the next version becomes available.

Besides. Are we hot blooded heterosexual men really interested in a 90 minute documentary called 'The Battle of the Bulge' on the fitting of Craig's shorts?.
