I was watching Live and Let Die last night and i was wondering what happened to Strutter, he was standing watching the Jazz funeral then he was approached by the 'Trevor Macdonald' lookalike (the same guy who killled one of the agents at the beginning of the movie), then the scene finished. When Bond and Leiter were in the 'fillet of soal' restaurant, the waiter approached Leiter and said "Telephone call for you, some guy called Strutter", was this actually Strutter or was it a prank to get Bond alone so Kanangas men could 'Kidnapp' Bond?

Yes, it was a diversion to get Bond alone. It was strongly implied, practically guaranteed, that Strutter was killed the same way Hamilton was at the beginning. They wanted to separate him from Felix.

Agreed with 00Twelve. Bit of a sacrificial lamb character.

Yeah the funeral scene shows Strutter standing next to the guy we saw kill the agent at the beginning of the film, so this is obviously implying that Strutter is going to have the same happen to him (and he is never seen again after this scene). When I was younger I didn't pick up on it, I had no idea what happened to Strutter either!

But when Bond and Lieter are in the 'Filler of Soul' restaurant doesn't he suppose to get a telephone call from him?.

Leiter. "for a moment I though Larry was lying down on the job"?.

Forgive me if I'm wrong.

Cheers,

Ian

Yes the waiter says there is a phone call from Strutter, but this a ruse to get Felix away from the table so they can grab Bond. Strutter is already dead by that point

Yeah, I think Strutter was KIA. At least he got a nice funeral :cooltongue:

What I wanna know is why didn't they kill Felix too? Always seemed like he lucked out more then anyone else did in that situation.

Would be interesting to hear the explanation the waiter gave to Felix when he returned.

In the "unrated" version of Live and Let Die you actually see Strutter getting his soul filleted.

LOL!

Yeah, Harold Strutter cops it and is used as a ruse, baby.

Interesting point - Lon Satton, who plays Strutter played a singer in the band Sam Spade and the Private Eyes (I kid you not, it was the 70's) in Revenge of the Pink Panther!

Whisper...I doubt anyone heard his cries for help in that enclosure he was locked in. Perhaps a slow death for him.

I have a similar experience with a Boris Grishenko mock-up I keep in the fridge. The children are very frightened of it. My wife left me because of it. I don't care, I happen to like it. It's not us who are mad, it's them.
