Robots in a Bond film? what the hell is wrong with that? It's called the future, and Bond has to exist there. As for Whoopi Goldberg, she wasn't actually going to be in it. That was just a rumour because Dalton was dating her at the time.

I seriously hope that we'll see a book about this era someday. Something well researched by a good author.

"Bond Between - Whatever happened to James Bond from 1989 to 1995"

I'd be the first buyer!

You mean along the lines of the Star Trek Phase 2 series that almost happened in 1978? There was a great book written about that recently.

Hey, that's funny, I just picked up that book, IrishCrown. Very interesting. I love this kind of stuff.

I think Robots in a Bond film would hark back to the light-hearted, unflemingian Moore days. Robots may be OK in a science fiction film but Bond doesn't take well to science fiction, just look at Moonraker! Realism should be at the heart of any Bond film and robots don't sound very realistic to me. They might have been alright in a Moore film, but I don't think it would suit Dalton's style as Bond.

See Zencat? Someone really should write that book. Raymond Benson ought to clear some space on his calendar and take a crack at it.

You only say that because I dislike the idea. That's typical.

Bondpurist, you must be a very unhappy person. I wasn't even typing that last message to you, and you have to throw in your extremely bitter two cents.

I don't mean to be bitter. That's just how it comes out. Sorry.

Oh, that's okay. I'm sure you're a very loveable person in real life who's always the life of the party where ever you go.

Well, I think you'd be sorely disappointed, but I really don't mind if that's what you think.

That's exactly what I had in mind.
Apart from the book mentioned above we also need

"The James Bond Chronology" (might be impossible, but they should give it a try) and
"The Art of James Bond" (like Red Grands superb site, only for the coffee table)

Books like that could keep us sane during the movie production gaps.

They would make a great coffee table type book. The timeline for Bond would be good if someone really had the nerve to try it. Few of the Bonds really say which year they took place in, so it's possible.

I know a site somewhere that actually has a chronology. I'll try and find it and post it.

Bondpurist, that is an excellent idea, seriously. If you are referring to the novel chronology, I think I know the one you are talking about. I'll see it the next time I come on here. Enjoy the rest of your day, Bondpurist.

Does anyone know if this treatment / script still exists? Do you think it's possible that this is still in the EON vaults somewhere? Waiting to be adapted, or binned when the project fell through!

Yes this treatment exists and is in the possession of MGM, probably in a vault.
Parts of the script have already been used in TND and TWINE.

As for the robots involved, preliminary sketch designs were
made by IMAGINEERING division of Walt Disney. I have never seen them
but would love to. They are not light hearted friendly robots but extremely complex, exotic machines that go haywire and cause
a nuclear/chemical accident.

Another cool part is the motorbike riding, black helmeted Japanese assassin with high tech means of dishing out death.

Someone with clout, like Blue Eyes, should get in touch with and convince IMAGINEERING to give him a copy of the designs so that
he can post them on here for the benefit of all Bond fans.

What constitutes 'clout'?
