Do you think that the blonde receptionist from the Ocean Club is Miss Moneypenny? Imagine:

when M goes into the Bahamas, M meets the receptionist to know where Bon's room is and what time he comes back from Miami.

Possibly, in Bond 22 Villiers is the traitor and not Mathis(see: Villiers is the traitor), and therefore, VIlliers got jailed and M faced pressure by the MOD on whether to find a new secretary or resign from the MI6. Facing stress, M decided to take a vacation to the Bahamas for a week. THere, she took a holiday at the Oceans Club. At the Oceans Club, she met the receptionist again:

M: Good Morning
Blonde Receptionist: Hello there again, Miss____. Nice to see you.
M: I'd like to stay in the Presidential Suite for a few days.
BLonde Receptinist: Oh yes. We currently have a suite available for you madam. Just sign in here.
M: Thank you. Erm, may i ask you a question?
Blonde Receptionist: Yes you may?
M: Do you like working here?
Blonde Receptionist: A bit. The people are friendly here, and the salary's quite good for me. Why are you asking me that?
M: I'm the chief of MI6. I'm currently looking for someone to be my secretary. That means doing paperwork for queen and country.
Blonde Receptionist: Well, i haven't returned to London for quite a while. But, i kinda enjoyed working here-
M: The salary's larger if you work for me.
Blonde Receptionist: Well, i'd have to think about it. Is there anyone else for the job?
M: Not really. I consider you perfect, Miss?
Blonde Receptionist: Moneypenny
M: Alright Miss Moneypenny. You have two days to consider for this job. The salary is big and it's stress-free for women.
Blonde Receptionist: Alright madam. I'll think about it. Thanks for the offer.
M: YOu're welcome

So what do you guys think?

Im not sure if the head of MI6 would reveal herself to a civilian hotel receptionist, and offer her a permanent job after a brief meeting.

Cool idea, Humphrey Bogart! When I first saw CR I thought Caterina Murino/Solange was the prettiest girl in this film. Upon 2nd viewing, the blond receptionist stood out to me as the best looking CR babe. She flirted very well with Craig as well. I'd be very happy to see her become the new Miss Moneypenny.

What was the name of the actress who played the receptionist?

Christina Cole.

Not really a fan of the idea; think it's just a bit too far-fetched. The head of MI6 wouldn't reveal herself in public, and certainly wouldn't offer the job to someone who isn't qualified. That isn't to say that the actress isn't capable for the role, but I don't think the point should be made that M employed a hotel receptionist as one of the highest profile administrators in this fictional world of MI6.

I think the film was just fine without any hint of Moneypenny, Q, Major Boothroyd, Bill Tanner, Robinson, Frederick Gray, Colthorpe, Smithers, Ms. Penelope Smallbone, R, Jim Fanning or anybody else. It was a nice change without those shoehorned-in characters.

Agreed. I personally was getting a little tired of these characters sticking around a little too much in some of the later films--The World is not Enough being on example. We've got M, Moneypenny, Warmflash, Robinson, Tanner, Q, R, and so on. Too much.

I thought Casino Royale did fine with just M and Villiers.

I bet she used an alias name to cover her identity. James Bond's alias when he was in the hotel at Montenegro was "Mr. Arlington Beech" while Vesper's alias is "Stephanie Broadchest". I bet M would also an alias name.

I love this line :cooltongue:

Receptionist pulls out a gun and shoots M in the head, after calmly disposing of the body she picks up the phone.

Receptionist: It's all sorted Mr. White, we'll have no more trouble from her.

I don't know about the receptionist being Moneypenny, but I'm pretty sure that the tourist whose car Bond crashed will turn out to be Q. They already have the animosity between them. It'll be great! :cooltongue:

Agreed. I actually thought that Villiers was a nice change of pace from having the same characters in the films over and over again.

I agree. Just because some elements have always been there doesn't mean they should automatically return. Though I have gone on far too much on other threads about this so I will stop heralding the demise of Q and MONEYPENNY. They will return / be referenced in some shape or form I'm sure. MONEYPENNY could have a narrative purpose. Not so sure about Q now. I think - as someone has said recently - the character died with Desmond Llewelyn...

She had an interesting face, and I liked the way she interacted with Craig.. I don't want her as moneypenny, but I wish her role in CR could have been a bit bigger (not sure how they would have worked it in, but she was interesting somehow)..

I think the receptionist as Moneypenney is a bad idea.

Just keep M and replace Villers with a beautiful blonde British actress as Moneypenney, then keep Q out of this whole new franchise 'til Bond actually needs him.

Maybe she's already Moneypenny and was sent to the Bahamas to keep an eye on Bond. Maybe Bond doesn't know who she is yet.

I, too, don't like the idea of Miss Moneypenny coming back. But I like Christina Cole. She was in a BBC show we got here in the US called HEX. It was supposed to be a Brit Buffy the Vampire Slayer but was way too slow paced for that. She did an excellant, or shall I say, brillant job in any case.

Even if EON brings Moneypenny back, I don't see Christina Cole doing it because she is too good looking. I would have trouble believeing that Bond wouldn't fall for her. I do like the idea of CC appearing in a larger role in a future Bond adventure. She could use a break. And so could we. Okay, me.
