I'd rather they just move on. Don't look back.

These aren't prequels.

Exactly. Eon haven't turned the series into some join-the-dots fan-fest.

...even if the character is Valentin - the BEST supporting character since Kerim Bey.

Who would welcome seeing how Bond first met Valentin Zukovsky, and how he gave him the limp?
Not me...

It's a cute idea, but that's the problem. After CR, cute ideas like that are on par with a wisecracking kid or a talking animal sidekick. No, no, no, no.
LOL - have you been reading my posts in the "This or That?" game?
Interesting points from all of you. It was only a bit of fun by the way. There seem to be a few people who hate the idea of continiuty between the Bond movies, except for the continuity between CR and Bond 22, which they love? It's all a bit funny to me, I like it all the time - I loved that Judi Dench confirmed she is playing the same character as GE-DAD.

Hmmm... I kinda like that idea. Also, we already saw Bond shoot out Mr. White's kneecaps in the last film, do we want Craig's Bond's trademark to be smashed knees?

I love when there's continuity, but that doesn't change the fact it's almost non-existent in the first 20 movies.Interesting points from all of you. It was only a bit of fun by the way. There seem to be a few people who hate the idea of continiuty between the Bond movies,
She's no authority on that. Doesn't help her case that she also said Brosnan was coming back.I loved that Judi Dench confirmed she is playing the same character as GE-DAD.
Anyway, no thanks. As others have pointed out, Brosnan's Bond and Craig's Bond aren't from the same universe. No need to muddy things just for the sake of a cutesy, probably unfunny in-joke. Besides, if they'd have to recast Valentin, who was only even interesting because of Robbie Coltrane, what's the point?

The only people that worry about continuity to this extent (ie. Dench's character, prequel/sequel, codename theory) are a small niche of fans, most of whom can be found on these forums. The writers don't worry about it, the director doesn't, the producers don't, neither do the actors, or 95% of the fans.I love when there's continuity, but that doesn't change the fact it's almost non-existent in the first 20 movies.Interesting points from all of you. And yet, slowly but surely, this niche of fans chase their own tails, and drive themselves insane
