Without including any spoilers if possible (please use the spoiler tag if you wish too)
What would people think if the Die Another Day pre-title sequence was similair to the Tomorrow Never Dies pre-title sequence?

When I saw a pic a long while back (Ill have to fish it out) it was very TND-esque. I believe it may have a similar feel but inevitably less confined, and probably more explosive. I think many consider TND pre-titles as one of the best of the series and many people I know consider it the best of the Brosnan's. Whether I would like DAD's to be similar is debatable, having two sequences that are similar is always going to cause controversy but with it being one of the better sequences its more acceptable.

Personally, I don't mind the comparison.
I quite like the idea of another TND like title sequence. TWINE was great, don't get me wrong. But it did have a lot of plot related information in it. And I'm not quite sure that's something the audience are interested in. TND works well because it establishes the GPS encoder and Gupta without giving us a story about a killed MI6 agent and more...

Like Moon said, I felt TND's teaser was too confined. What we end up is, is Bond running around a airfield (a rather small one at that) while making his way to a jet. This teaser for DAD appears to cover more ground as Bond and his pursuers take to Hovercrafts. Plus (without saying anything) the ending to the pretitles will be different than that of TND's

The pre-titles sequence of TND was a true classic, yes it was confined, but it invovled an immediate danger. The action was well planned and executed. In my opinion it was a credit to the production.
As long as the DAD pre-credit's teaser isn't a retread, and judging by what we've already seen I don't think it will be, i'll be happy.
My only worry is that the teasers are starting to get very lengthy, I think TWINE was about 10-15mins! Keep them shorter, and don't get too much information in them. They are only there to whet our appetite!

i agree about the sequences getting too long. as enjoyable as the
pre-title sequence was in TWINE, it was definetly too long. in my opinion it slowed down the rest of the movie cause there was nothing there that could top it. i hope they go back to them being a bit shorter, around 7 or eight minutes.

For my money, "Goldeneye"'s pre-credits sequence was the second most exciting and self-contained of the entire series, after "Goldfinger"'s (which pretty much gave you all that was great about the Bond movies inside a few minutes).
Because of story developments, I'm expecting a long pre-credits for "Die Another Day", about the same length as that of "The World Is Not Enough". That's fine if the story justifies it, but shorter pre-credits sequences would always be preferable unless there's a pressing reason why they should be long.

I actually dislike the TND pretitles....never liked the idea of Bond's mission being watched by his bosses back home....

I wouldn't mind if there was another TND style pretitle sequence, as
in my mind, it is the best.
Anyway, haven't there been heaps of repetitions in Bonds anyway?
ala the plot of YOLT and Spy? an basically the whole format of a Bond movie? ie starts off finishing one assignment, then the titles, get's gadget, introduces to villian, meets girl, blows up villains base, titles.
keekekekek
The TWINE pretitle sequence, and the movie itself, looked like it had been made in a rush (and judging from the DVD commentary it had to cut heaps of the boat chase and push that to before the titles- That is probably why it wasn't so gadget laden-contrary to the false advertising that the boat would have more gadgets than the BMW 750).
and I believe that the ending of a pre-title sequence should always end on a high (something that wasn't there in TWINE).
Let us hope that it ends on a high on this one, but I fear that it will not.....

Without giving anything away (not that I know much in the first place), I just want to ask this. Whats wrong with a teaser ending on a downer? Bond has been successfull in every teaser, now the producers dont want to shake things up to much, but having Bond fail is something new (I'm sure it will get old though, and theyll go back to Bond winning).
I dont know what I'm trying to say, its just that I enjoy it when they try something new, even as small as having Bond fail in the teaser makes me happy, cause its something different.

JimmyBond, I gotta admit, I'm siding with you on this one. I'm looking forward to the teaser ending on a downer. I really want to see how it comes out as a film.
