I haven't heard any reports recently about either of them--but I would think that they're both probably pretty happy with Casino Royale's success.
I doubt they will make any public statement. Probably just let the box office figures do the talking.

Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson, its producers, said they were "thrilled", especially for Craig and his co-star Eva Green, a candidate for the rising star award

She's treading on real eggshells here. Craig's committed to three films at a salary much lower than previous Bonds. He's never complained about that. But he'll certainly want a far better payday if he signs on for a fourth. And if Barbara gets all gushy now...
Hell, though, she ought to say something!
Hmmm...I can just see the 2 second press conference...
The reporters gather in droves. There's a hush in the room and then Barbara speaks the word everyone has longed to hear...
SOMETHING
End of press conference?
But seriously, I don't feel she has to say anything. At the moment, I would venture to say they're already thinking about the next film. Besides, it's interesting that the moment they say anything to the press, any comment is changed, twisted, or just made outright silly. Therefore, perhaps they are being guarded at the moment.
And as far as Daniel Craig wanting a better payday, I hope I'm right in that his acting comes first and yes the payday is important, but he strikes me as an actor first and a celebrity second.

Your points are valid and well-put. I don't see Craig ever becoming a money-grubbing hack. But it would be wise, natural and healthy for him to insist on being paid for his incredible gifts. This will support his passions for original paintings and beautiful women. In a position of power--reflected for button-down studio brains by the size of his paychecks--he'll have access to the world's best directors and scripts. Finally, with a nice cushion, he'll be free to pass in comfort on projects that don't meet his standards.
Interesting comparison: Eric Roberts was once regarded as one of the hottest and best young American actors. But at some point he began doing straight-to-videos. Not just a few, a lot of them. He wanted to keep working, he needed the dough, he had to take what was offered. Whenever it was offered. At this point, the industry seems to have lost respect for him. He failed to get into a power position. Failed to build a nest egg back when the going was good. Then he was forced to sell out.
All I want's for Daniel Craig to strike while he's hot--and then keep rocking on as an artist

I hope that both are somewhere exotic and luxurious, with their feet up, their mobiles switched off and basking in the sun taking a break.
They earned it.
Recharge of the batteries and then full speed ahead towards Bond 22.

I didn't know that about D. Craig - about the paintings
Great minds think like mine
Uh, and the women too!

Now that I can agree with. Somehow I have a feeling or call it woman's intuition that Craig will do what's best for him. I like the story about Eric Roberts. Makes me think about a movie coming out today The Hitcher with Sean Bean and well when I see that, the only thought I have is, "Must want to work or needs to pay the bills."
So, I'm guessing and I'm hoping that Craigs gets all that's due to him financially and that Mike and Barbara recognize that they do have a good thing going to pay the man accordingly.

As far as Craig's salary, he is likely getting some kind of shares of the profits of CR as is likely written into his contract. So I doubt he will be doing any type of Connery holdouts anytime soon.

I agree.
And I don't think they will be even thinking about James Bond - just for a couple of weeks.

Does anyone know whether Barbara Broccoli and/or Michael Wilson have made any recent statements (or given interviews) regarding the great reviews, BAFTA awards and/or Casino Royale's financial success?
Just ask them both on this forum ....
The trick though is to work out which ones of the 7917 members they are. Sorry, of the 7915 members, since I am not one and I am presuming you wouldn't ask yourself this question
Well, I'm not Babs that's for sure...

As for DC's pay, I've said it before and repeat myself here- there's nothing wrong with getting well paid for something you love to do. Or for being recognized $$$wise for your job.
