Is it just me, or is Pierce's voice unusually high-pitched and awkward-sounding in the deleted scenes for TND and, to a lesser extent, TWINE? It definitely sounds like his Irish accent and roots are coming through when he speaks there. (I'm not saying I dislike Irish accents, it's just odd because that's not how I'm used to his voice sounding.) But it's odd, because in most of the other extras (like the documentaries and interviews), Pierce's voice sounds the same as it does in the movies.

Of course, actors altering the sound of their accents for a particular movie is nothing new. Just look at Daniel Craig, who adopted a totally American accent for Tomb Raider and a pretty convincing South African accent for Munich.

Anyway, has anyone else noticed this?

Well, Brosnan has been known to put on a more English accent in several of his movies, such as MRS DOUBTFIRE, in addition to his Bond films. His actual accent is very clear in EVELYN, although he has slightly accentuated the Irish brogue even further for that particular film. His Irish accent can be detected in several scenes in Bond though; he doesn't maintain the cut-glass English voice throughout.

He sounds really, really posh while introducing 'The Martin Chronicles' on the GE UE.

I always think of Pierce as being the most difficult Bond actor to do an impression of. And I'm Irish!

I think its just the rough sound mix in those scenes, everyone's voice sounds higher than normal. I noticed the same thing, specifically in the car scene with M from TND, Brosnan and Robinson sounded a bit girly.
