Don't breathe this, found it over on IMDB but don't believe it.

It would be cool though.

No it won't.

(Even if filming started tomorrow, they would have to cast, shoot, and post-produce in six months. Not gonna happen).

Great, of course...means there'd be one film I'd actually want to watch this summer.

And how ironic that a poster with the name Duke Nukem is posting false release dates...

He's probably just wishing for it and posting it online, hoping that it'll happen. Even though we all know that it's not happening. I do think the producers should've used 2'007' to their advantage, but oh well. I'm excited for '08 though! :cooltongue:

Sadly there is no way BOND 22 could physically be released in July 2007; this is just someone trying to start yet another rumour based on the significance of 7/7/07. I am satisfied that the wait until November 2008 will create a very good quality movie though :cooltongue:

Indeed.

Also, I am pumping myself up for 07/07/07, because that day my step brother and I are going to have a Bond marathon all 21 movies nonstop. I'm excited for that!

It is just a little disappointing that there won't be a new film released in 007 but nobody wanted to wait for CR any longer than we already did, and hurrying 22 is no good either :cooltongue:

Actually it could happen if the film makers used one of the new digital cameras and edited it on a Power Mac. Hey, it's been done. It would be cool to have the indie version of bond. No really this is a good idea. Some of the best films I see are small indie films where the film makers have to work around the challenges of working with no budget.

Also let's consider that many American and British network TV programs are better than most of the movies you see all year. And they have to make 'em quick. Heck, a couple of times a year I go to a local art house cinema to watch the Buffy the Vampire Slayer ep "Once More With Feeling". It looks better than 95% of the movies coming out any year I see it.

In fact, in another forum here several of us discussed who we would like to see direct Bond 22. Steven Speilberg has been a long time fav for making a bond film. And he wants to make a low budget movie. Sooo, let's get a bunch of talented writers in a room, anoint a head writer have him dole out pages to each scribe just like TV. Then get some of the new Sony Hi Def cameras, round up the actors and make a truly cool bond film that doesn't pay hommage to past films, breaks new ground creatively and is made by Steve S.

Crazed bond fan at work here? You betcha. Odds stacked against us? Natch. Never gonna happen? Who do you think you're talking to? Who's our hero? What would James Bond do?

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have our work cut out for us.

I think it will be impossible for Eon to release Bond 22 on that date simply because Craig may be involved in different projects and won't be available and I don't think the movie would be that great if they did not have a hudge budget. Look at CR, it had a relatively big budget and it is one of the best bond movies since the 1960's and imagine if CR had a really low budget they may not have had enough money to turn that spa in Prague into a Casino or enough money to create some of the great sets not to mention the money that is needed to pay actors. I think Bond 22 could could get released at the earliest in May of 2008 or it could be released sometime in July/August 2008 because according to a Daniel Craig interview he said they would start filming Bond 22 in November 2007 which would give them plenty of time to release the movie by July/August 2008. Its kind of strange to me that every site that has a release date for Bond 22 says it will be released in November 2008 but has this been actually offically anounced by Eon like the original May 2008 was because I thought the only mention to this release date was in a Hollywood Reporter article but after this article I don't believe there was any offical verification of it. Even if the November release date is true I think they could of pulled it back to July/August 2008 because of the success of CR.

I think we should relax and let EON take their time. Lets let this film mature like a fine wine (Ouch! Very obvious and overused clich

Not likely. The fact that this came from the IMDb boards is another thing to take into account.

of course this is just some guy making a post on the imdb boards.... so it's nothing.

doesn't change the fact that it would have been just about the coolest release date ever for a movie if an 007 flick came out on that day.

It's obviously false, but I'm perfectly fine with waiting until 2008. :cooltongue:

I've always thought the "2-007" thing was kind of cheesy. Besides, 07/07/07 is a Saturday. Don't movies usually come out on Wednesday's and Friday's?

Big movies sometimes open on Wednesdays to build up buzz for the weekend, and the recent Omen remake opened on 6.6.6, which was a Tuesday. Still, we are speculating idly.

I dont want a rushed movie, i'd rather have a movie that is well planned and thought out. "7/7/007" would be cool, but at the end of the day its just a gimmick and nothing more than that :cooltongue:, yeah 2007 is Bonds year but i'm sure this will be taken onboard by sideshow etc... and we'll have loads of memerobila released to tie in with this instead of the movie.

Hey, we're getting CR on DVD in 2-007.

No, look at Craig's schedule. January '08 is the next time Bond will be lensing.

I assumed that 'IMDb' meant 'I'M Dumb '. :cooltongue:

We have as much chance of seeing Bond 22 on 7/7/07 as I have of witnessing my own birth whilst balancing 36 plates on my head and reciting the third testament.

Damn. It COULD really happen.

Cheers,

It would've been fine if they had shot the two films back to back. But the real worst-case sccenario, imo, would've been if they'd rushed the second...then left us waiting two to three years for the third. It's a long wait. But look on the bright side. In another seven or eight months the leaks should be starting to spring--and we can really light up this wonderful site with some great debates.

It would have been cool, but it'd only be worth it if it could make a difference in box office, which I really doubt it would. Besides, they'd sooner release it on a Friday than on a Saturday, and sooner in early summer (like May) than in mid to late summer, both of which could make a difference in box office.

And stop getting info from imdb! :cooltongue:

I forgot where I posted on this subject. No one has really commented directly on what I said but I'd like to follow up. I realize that it will not happen for lots of reasons, none of them to do with releasing a quality product in the time frame. THAT can be done. I submit that a film started by the end of next week and released on 7/7/07 can be as good as the one to be released in 11/08. A different movie maybe but as good.

The reason it won't happen is a lack of will. People think they have to take lots of time and effort to produce a film and really you don't. Like I said, there is some excellent TV out there and it's done fast. Why not Bond?

I wish the fans would be behind a 40 film to be released on DVD and BR-D on 7/7/07. It could be based on one of the short stories or an ep from a novel that hasn't been used yet. Make it edgy, quirky and dark (which Bond is anyway) and very character driven. Make it a suspense type film. Aim for Hitchcock instead of an action movie. Use new creative talent, different writers, try out a new director, while letting them work with the EON production crew. And spend as little money as possible while making it.

I just saw David Lynch's brillant INLAND EMPIRE. DL was at the theater for a Q and A. He said some interesting things about making that movie. Here are 2 things to consider: 1, Lynch spent next to nothing on the film he shot on a consumer grade HD DV camera, a Sony PD 150 I think. He made it look fantastic. 2 He said that studios are reducing their budgets. They aren't going to be as willing to spend lots of money on a film as they used to be. Better get used to dealing with slashed budgets now. Tighter belts are coming.

That's all well and good Razorblade, but your post is based on the assumption that Eon is waiting two years because they don't want to rush. The fact that Michell was approached so soon and that he actually mentioned they wanted to start filming last January leads me to believe they were gunning for the 2007 release window, but taht Michell's departure (hesitant to call it that, as he was never signed) forced them to rethink their strategies.

Perhaps they're looking at this as an opertunity to fine tune the screenplay that (I presume) is already done, or close to being finished.
