I've seen the film six times now and I still can't make it out. The guy is clearly ogling him. Craig smiles and utters a throwaway line. Is this a Freudian miss on my part? Last time I saw it, a pair of guys in front of me giggled like crazy and kissed. What was said?

If you are talking about the guy with the landrover ... I think Craig says 'almond?' ...

The guy is ogling him because he is the owner of the Range Rover that Bond smashed! But no I don't know what Bond says to him either.

If it's a German word and not 'almond?' as I heard it ... it could be a reference to Goldfinger ...

Bond says "guten abend," which is German for "good evening."

Great moment, great expression on Craig's face.

Mount Gay is rum made in Barbados. Wonderful when mixed with Coke, awesome! Me and Bond like the same rum!

As already stated, he says "Guten Abend" which is good evening in German.

The guys in front were laughing at the fact that the German guy recognised him from earlier.

He doesn't really say "Guten Abend", he uses the more casual short form "'nabend" - which is more like "Hi there". And he delivers it in a really cool and (almost) perfect way. One notices that he had a German girlfriend for several years. :)

Much to my disappointment, they actually changed this to an uncool and to formal "Guten Abend" in the German dubbed version.

Hmmm... maybe they should of had subtitles with all these foreign languages we have found throughout the movie.

Yes, I wondered if he had said that, couldn't remember. I speak German, and lived there for 18 months, and so it's what I would have said.

I am British, too...and I also had a German girlfriend.

I think Craig went to the bar (after being notified he got the role) and said "I'm James Bond" to the bartender, who gave him another pint, then another, then another, probably thinking "this guys is off base, if he is James Bond, I'm the queen mary then". Then Craig went somehow back home dead drunk, but happy.

Then I assume that would be what we'd call a "rum & Coke" around here?...

(No one drinks rum and club soda, do they?...)

I wasn't sure what he said either. It's still not clear - does he say "guten abend" or order this "Mount Gay" drink?

He orders the drink, gets the drink, and says 'nabend' to the German as he's leaving the bar...

It's 'Guttenarband', the German phrase for Goodday/Goodevening or something.

It's that classic Bond moment of acknowledging someone who he has clearly rattled. Cocky and cheeky, classic Bond.

He's not ordering anything, as he looks the fat guy in the eye as they see each other and nods a little 'hello'.

Hiya, don't wanna be a smart [censored], but has anyone noticed that Daniel saying "N'abend" is especially funny because the "guy" he talks to (whose car he wrecked on the parking lot) is a German actor (J

Welcome to CBn :) Bond spoke in German because the character Schultz whose car he wrecked was clearly a German speaker from when they'd met before. It would have been a bit random for Bond to suddenly start greeting someone in a Bahamas bar in a foreign language otherwise!
