Was wondering what CBn'ers thought of the Raymond Benson Bond short stories (difficult as some may be to come by).

Of his three 007 short stories: “Blast from the Past”, “Midsummer Night's Doom”, and “Live at Five”, which do you like best and why?

I'll add in a poll as well.

Live at Five. Like the surprise twist at the end.

That's the one I voted for as well (although I have not yet read “Blast from the Past”).

Blast From The Past

It's got the most action, has a nice torture scene, and it brings a conclusion to the remaining loose ends of the You Only Live Twice novel-- most specifically the resolution of the Irma Bunt question.

However, what I'm really waiting for is a novel collection of Benson's short stories so we can get the full version of Blast From The Past (as well as The Heart Of Erzulie) that has only been available in Italy.

Unfortunatly I've never had the chance to read these short stories. About time IFP had got the finger out and give fans what they want. A collection of Bensons short stories would be more than welcomed by me, alongside with the Gardner reprints.

'Live At Five' got my vote. I remember quite liking it upon first read. It's short, sweet, and to the point.
