Pre Titles

I thought Craig's acting was weak, soely because he didn't say much and just shot some pretty hard looks. The bathroom scene was great and Bond looked somewhat posessed during the drowning, other wise very film noir. :) The gunbarrel look was great but the blood effects were a tad too fast. A

Main Titles

I felt like a was 11 years old watching The Saint again, the "007 Status Confirmed" was a little too tacky for my tastes and I thought that DC's shot in the end was a little unnecsesary but still very cool. A-

Madagascar

Wonderful! I don't have much to say, but after a while I started to thimk, "Enough with the action and get on with the movie!" Well done Mr. Foucan B+

Bahamas

Absolutely wonderful. Very retro and Daniel Craig surpassed Connery's Thunderball performance. The Solange theme got on my nerves a little though. The Aston Martin was nice to see in it's full glory again too. A+

Montenegro/Casino

The train scene was wonderful and the "How was the Lamb?" line really did it for me. The poker scenes were intense and wonderful acting from Craig and Mikkelsen. The stairwell fight was great and Obanno sure put up a fight. I wish it could have gotten a little more graphic in terms of violence. The shower scene was great, it made me want to cry, it would have gotten an A+ from me, but it could have been longer. Now the great torture, excellent, The humor was tackled perfectly and Le Chiffre put the cherry on top. A

Venice

I got a little sick of long action pieces so I got a little upset. Other than that the romance was good and the little fimger part wasn't quite needed. I must say Eva Green did a phenomenal job in the Venice scenes and her drowning scene was so raw, graphic, gripping, beautiful, I could go on forever. The end was incredible and Daniel Craig did an amzing job with the "Bond, James Bond" line. A-

Summary

Casino Royale is by far the best of the best. Daniel Craig brings back Sean Connery"s spirit with his own unique vibe. Retro, violent and realistic are the best words to describe this film.

Overall Grade: 93.3% A
