The action genre has definitely dried up and has become a relic of the past. But I do believe action will re-emerge in a new intelligent fashion that is being led by perhaps Daniel Craig in James Bond. So fear not, everything returns, it's just packaged in a different box."

Sylvester Stallone is actually responsible for some of the most stupid action films ever made (during the 80s).
This quote is probably one of the best things Sly has done for movies

Intelligent action films isn't exactly a new thing. I think many of the action-movies made during the 60s-70s were far more intelligent than the action films we see today (yes, that includes CR even though it is a good film).

Yeh, who can forget films like Cobra and Rambo 3
Someone: Who do you think this man is... God?!!
Colonel: No. God would have mercy...
Mr. Wint, you can't put it all on Sly. Do you remember the classic ones, like Action Jackson, Avening Force, Death Wish 3 and 4?

I don't mean to be rude . . . okay, I'm going to be rude. So Stallone didn't mention the BOURNE movies. What's your point?
