The first half reminds me DAD. Too much and long actions, so you cant deeply get the plot. Dont get me wrong I love action, especially the first one in Madacasgar was great. But the Miami Airport scenes seemed a bit overlong, and wrongly shot by Campbell.
It could had been better if they could have used the 5 minutes they used in action scenes with some tiny Bond moments, like the car-parking scene.
The second half is great, especially Eva Green and her acting.
First half is like DAD

I'm confused, I thought the first half of DAD was quite good.

I wanted to say that the first half of CR is like a combination of DAD's first and second half. Some good moments, not bad, but not great like the second half.

Ah, totally. I've argued with a friend about this haha, and I must say i'm not a big fan of the Miami Airport action sequence. I know its necessary for Le Chiffre to lose the money, etc. But I much prefer the Madagascar chase sequence.

If you thought any part of DAD was at all good, then yes, you are indeed confused....I'm confused, I thought the first half of DAD was quite good.

I think DAD and CR have a few things in common and to me seems a bit to close in the franchise.
In both films Bond gets tortured.
They both contain unusual title seqeunces.
In both films water is involved to rescue (or try) the love interest.
Both films contain Bond having a cardiac arrest.
To me if they are people out there where DAD was their first Bond film they had seen and then CR was their second. Surly they'll be thinking 'hang on that happend to him last time. Does he always have heart attacks'

They didn't really have a choice though, as they wanted to faithfully adapt Fleming's story, so they had to keep the torture in. It is a shame DAD happened to use it only to have it amount to nothing anyway.
Besides apart from those few respects, CR and DAD are so completely different that a few coincidences don't detract from the quality of CR.

The first half of both films were written by the same duo. The second half of both films had Ian Fleming being the difference.
Does that help?
