Don't get me wrong. I have liked every Bond for different reasons, but let's face it, Craig looks like he could work over any of the other Bonds (yes, Connery included) pretty viciously. I was watching Golden Gun last night, Bond was running around with that little p-shooter gun. Then I thought of the last scene in Casino Royale when Bond gives his name, he's towering over the dude with one mean [censored] sniper riffle looking like the baddest mf on the planet since Samuel L. Jackson and Chuck Norris. Props to the new Bond!

Sissies? Roger Moore, maybe, but not Connery, Lazenby, or Dalton. MAYBE Brosnan, but, then again, Brosnan's 3 or 4 inches taller than Craig, and he was decent in his fight scenes.

Craig is pretty damned convincing in the fight/chase scenes, though!

Humphrey, you are right! I felt all of them, including Connery, are sissies compared to Craig. And remmember, I was a huge anti-Craig believer when he was first cast and I never thought he could be as good as I thought Pierce was.

:) Agreed

But it's not a sniper rifle, it was a submachine gun

UMP9 silenced to be exact.

:) I absolutely agree. When Craig ran into the building with the inflatable supports going after the money and Vesper, I was thinking the whole time, "Man I wouldn't want that guy coming after me!"

That is more than I can say for the previous Bonds, though I love them all.

Yup, Craig's Bond would whip Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, and Brosnan's [censored] one by one if they were in a fight.

And yeah that was an H&K UMP9.

All except a young Connery.

B5Erik,
You really thought Brosnan was good in the fight scenes???? That was one problem I had with Brosnan, I never felt like he was really hitting the person. Brosnan may be a couple inches taller than Craig, but he certainly does not pack the punch Craig has.

Daniel Craig's Bond is the only guy who could make storming a whole Embassy unarmed believable.

A fight between Craig now and Connery 1965 would be so volitile that it would literally tear the fabric of time and space :)

And I'd give it to Connery honestly.. Craig is a tough cookie for sure (and one look would make Brossers faint in fright despite the height difference), but Connery is an old-school brawler from the streets son!

Sissie is too strong a word. Gloriefied Dandy is much better. The funny thing is during the whole initial conversation with Vesper. I sort of got the feeling that the five previous Bond's were the 'school chums' that Craig would have gone to school with. And he was trying to measure up to.

While I think that Craig's Bond could give all of them a physical thrashing. He seems like the kind of guy who would rather try and outwit them. Craig's Bond thinks with his head first. Then with his fists. Not like Connery.

I couldn't disagree more. Craig's Bond is more hot-headed than the other Bonds. Take the scene where he grabbed a steak knife and went after Le Chiffre after losing 10 Million dollars. That was not using his head, that was acting on pure emotion and anger.

the chase scene in madagascar cemented dc as the baddest bond ever for me. no other bond had chased a guy up a construction site and then back down. the little bomb maker could have made any one of the other bonds give up the chase after the crane stunts, but not dc. he chased him without huffing and puffing (moore and brosnan) and was still able to get into an embassy where he was outnumbered. it reminded me of dalton in tldl's opening sequence times ten. you could say that dc's bond was influence by other action flicks, but let's face it, he still kicked more [censored] than any other bond before him. :)

Not sure about Connery 1965...Connery 1963, circa Red Grant and Orient Express...now that would be a fair fight.

And since Connery has about 4 inches on Craig, i'm not sure who would win.

I also recon Timothy circa 1989 and LTK could be thrown in the mix too.

I agree on Bronson and Moore but Dalton ala LTK, Lazenby and Connery were cold-booded killers.

And here I thought that he was just trying to stop a man who funded terrorists.
