Look at the truck scene at the airport, it's very simular like the one in "Indiana Jones" right?! :)

I didn't bother me, just noticed it!
I for one think that CR is a very good movie and I like the way Graig is doing "Bond"!
CR is really a new beginning!
:P

It didn't cross my mind at the time one bit, and the only thing between the two is there is a fight in a truck.

The miami scene reminds me (a little) of Die Hard 2. Perhaps Campbell is fan of that film. The helicopter scene in GE was more or less "stolen" from Die Hard 2.

But I can also see the similarities to "Raiders" - perhaps because Craig reminds me so much of a young Harrison Ford.

I noticed a little 'Zorro' in the construction plant scene. When Bond hits a break (or whatever) and is propelled upwards.

I've got to say I don't see any similarity at all between the airport scene in CR and the truck scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Oh it's just like it- especially with the fight in the cab. I don't there's anything hugely wrong with it, but the similarites are obvious!

Except Indy only climbed into the cab- Bond does a cartwheel!

That's what I thought of immediately...I was waiting for Daniel to grab a fire extinguisher.

The truck scene in Indiana Jones always reminded me of the bobsled scene in OHMSS.

What about the torture scene ..the way Craig was speaking...any resemblance to Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon when he was being tortured?

Yes, well maybe the itch-joke was a little bit over the top!

don't think I would be joking whilst they were doing that to me! :)

There are a few things in the film that remind me of Martin Riggs - the torture scene, the cartoon head shake that Bond does after his fall in the parkour sequence, and the panting after the resuscitation attempt reminded me of an angry Riggs, probably just because the other examples had already brought him to mind.

Of course you wouldn't do that. Not many men would, but then there's only one James Bond.

Absolutely, it's pretty much an homage to that scene in Raiders, including, but not limited to, ramming the opponents head into the dashboard, bond getting chucked out of the truck once but managing to get back on it, and even certain musical cues are similar.

Indeed, that's what I mean [censored]

It's not comparing in the way, like... that one's better than the other...
It's just something I've noticed in a positive way... I really do like CR very much & the truck scene was very thrilling!

I believe Jones slides through the windshield to get in the truck too, as Bond does.

No shame in borrowing a few things from it, as that's one of the best action sequences of all time, and it's not obviously a copy.

And the truck chase in RAIDERS is homage to the stagecoach stunt sequence legendary stuntman Yakima Canutt performed for John Wayne in John Ford's western STAGECOACH, and was also similiar to the stagecoach bit in the movie serial ZORRO'S FIGHTING LEGION. As a matter of fact, if we want to talk about all the movies the Indiana Jones films steal from (TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE, CASABLANCA, GUNGA DIN, LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, THE STEEL HELMET, etc.) we'll be here for a week.

I didn't notice any similarities myself, but when there have been so many movies made, I imagine that we could probably take any scene from CASINO ROYALE and find a similar scene in another movie on which we could think it was based. Very few are probably direct homages to another film.

Craig's outfit in that sequence is also very reminiscent of the clothing Ford wears as Indiana Jones.

RAIDERS has been one of my favorite movies since its release. I've seen it well over 150 times. It was only natural that I'd get interested in seeing the movies that were inspirations for it. It has minor flaws (I wish Karen Allen were more of a Hawksian woman instead of a Spielbergian tomboy for example), but it's still one of the greatest of all adventure movies.

I remembered ROTLA instantly when I was watching the truck fight, especially when Daniel is hanging on the door, wich is breaking loose from its hinges.
