That said, I won't get to indepth as, for starters, I'm not feeling to great at the moment and will just end up rambling on in a drugged up haze

Firstly, blame it on the fact that nothing has been quite "normal" for me lately combined with anew Bond and new direction but after the first viewing, this film didn't really "feel" like a 007 flick to me. Granted, I felt the same way about DAD and by the third viewing I had completely accepted and actually enjoyed it for the bit of escapist fluff that it was, horrible one-liners, CGI and all. So, I plan on seeing CR again on the weekend and this will all probably change.
Anyway, now that I've gotten that somewhat bold statement out of the way, I have to say that Craig is absolutely perfect. He's 10% Connery, 40% Dalton (in terms of his delivery and overall on-screen persona) and 50% the Bond that we've all been waiting for.

I thought Eva Green was wonderful and, as far as looks go, is very much how I had imagined Vesper. That said, the love story really didn't translate as well from the pages to the big screen as I would have hoped.
The torture scene - absolutely brilliant and, with the exception of the actual location, very true to the novel.

Speaking of being true to the novel, the scene where Bond wins the DB5 at poker was a great little nod to how he obtained the Bentley in the book. I was pleasantly suprsied that they took one line from the novel and made it into a complete scene in the film.
I was a bit put-off by the over-use of cellphones. It only served to enforce my doubts of this whole reboot concept. I still say a Cold War prequel leading into the pre-credits of Bond 22 and then "back to the future" would have been the way to go.
Is it just me or did the whole Miami sequence (including, what I admit was a very well-staged chase sequence) seem very out-of-place and "un-Bondian"? It seemed like it was only there to get over the minor plot detail of a speicific bad investement of Le Chiffre's that could have just been covered in M's briefing.
All that said and all gripes aside, I'd give it about a 7/10 at present. However, as I mentioned above, that could easily shoot up to a 9/10 or 10/10 over the next couple of weeks.

EDIT: I just posted a topic regarding a couple of questions I had regarding details in the film, so if anyone wants to have a look, the thread can be found here.
