I wrote this angry post for another messageboard. Read and learn kiddies, because I am going to blame them (the producers and DC), for what they've done to James Bond;

I just came home from the midnight (0:07) premiere, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

Few things I disliked; Theme Song, which had lost all of it's balls, was a different mix (there are altogether 3 different versions of this song) or was theatres fault. But I found myself thinking that it should finish quickly.

And Vesper's and Bond's little romance was all too brief. But I remember it being brief in the book also, but given it was a movie adaption and not so much of the book's insight could have been provided, it lost some of it's edge. Though it felt natural, but all too brief. I bought into their sudden fall for eachother, but I would have liked to see a bit more. But I must honestly reveal, that I almost cried at the end. "Almost"

It was back to basics bond adventure, although the few action scenes in the beginning were very Brosnan like, the sequences were all saved because of Craig's believable portrayal of the character. You could believe, that he was doing all those stunts Bond had to do, to catch the bad guys.
Craig's bond truly is a homely handsome character, close to Connery's bond. Though given the lighting, he could either be homely looking average joe, or in other lighting a handsome ladies man. But I must say, he felt natural in the role.

Eva Green's Vesper Lynd was like an real life version of the Vesper in the book. She was pretty, classic beauty, who had all these classicly and true to the book, designed clothes. Vesper and Solange both made me think, "Thank God we got rid of Halle Berry!"
Add to her classical beauty, Eva Green also had on sexy voice. The teasing between her and Craig's bond, was very fun to watch.

The movie also got better when Bond arrived Montenegro and into Casino Royale. Here it was where the movie felt the most "bondian". What is a better enviroment for James Bond, than a casino and a high stakes casino tournament ?
Even if I dont know the rules to Texas Hold Em Up- game, it had bond moments at their best.

Le Chiffre, this must be one of the more close to earth villains Bond has faced in recent years. He was pathetic at best, and I almost felt sorry for him. The Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen did a great job, with keeping the character realistic. Well, realistic if you dont count characterization so typical for a bond villain, like a bleeding eye, whenever the character felt threatened.

There was scene, that I thought, would have been much more cruesome than, what was seen in the movie. I am, of course talking about the balls beating sequence, where Bond literally gets his balls smashed by rope of somekind. I never though it would be this fun. And no, I dont mean, "ha ha ! That was so lame" - kind of fun. It looked like it did hurt, but also, being as bruised as Bond was, he took it all like a man. Throwing a few Connerish jokes here and there.

The end, and the fate of Vesper Lynd in the end of the finale, that took place in Venice, almost made me cry , like I said in the beginning of this post.

After seeing this movie once, I cant say where I'd rank this movie or Daniel Craig. But it has to be said, that this new adventure/ re-boot cleares the foul after taste that I've felt ever since Die Another Day proved to be the worst movie in the series. But all I can say now, after the first viewing, is that this movie is, by far, one of the best movies in the series. A fresh beginning, which left me wanting to see where the producers and Craig will lead James Bond in the next movie, that will be a follow up to this year's bond adventure.

James Bond Is Back !

BTW, I didn't mean this to be a review of any sort. I was meaning to write just two lines. So forgive my few, or many, I suspect, typing errors.

Feel free to contact me if you dont know what I meant with some of the sentences or words. I suck [face_laugh]

All what there's left for me to say, that I didn't say before, is; Thank You to all of you nice people,who gave us this exellent bond adventure :)
