I saw it yesterday for the second time, and my opinion has solidified.
Instead of simply complaining about CR and thus basically talking to a wall of fanboys, may I ask for your possible reactions towards the movie if- for whatever reason- Bond falling in love with Vesper didn't seem convincing to you? Hypothetically speaking.
Imo, Vesper Lynd is an extremely well-written Bond girl, but since I don't find Eva Green attractive, to me, she is hardly of the same caliber as Tracy. Thus, while I love the first three acts, the last act seems rushed and is actually painful to watch. Overall, 8/10- on par with GoldenEye.

I found the romance slightly more developed than that of OHMSS, and about as believable. Which is to say, sufficiently, but obviously constrained by the realities of a feature-length film.

And I've noticed that the people with the biggest problems with CR don't find Eva Green attractive. Maybe that has something to do with it?

The scene where she is in the bathroom without make-up shows her true beauty. Eva Green is truly an absolutely gorgeous lady.

I thought Eva Green wasn't very attractive when I saw her in THE DREAMERS, but she's much more attractive in this. She was the perfect choice for Vesper, I think.

I think Eva Green is gorgeous. She has a very natural and mysterious beauty.

But obviously, if you didn't like her, you're not going to buy the love story. Or at least identify with it.
