I have just got in from seeing Casino Royale...

I did love it, i really did. Somethings did seem strange to me such as the plot devices but really Daniel Craig is Bond plain and simple.

No for me as a branding and marketing specıalıst i found the constant presence of Sony and Sony products as plot devices a bit overpowering but this was a minor quibble. I found the film to be extremely brave and it really goes to show that Babs and Mike did know all along what they were doing, though they have themselves to blame to a certain extent by expelling the virtues of each installment as being something different and then under delivering....there was an element of the boy who cried wolf and trust me this Bond is so very different.

For a start Bond inhabits Craig in a way that Brosnan never did in my mind, now i love Brosnan but Craig really does seem to make Brosnans Bond almost hollow. Craig exudes this arrogance which only Sean had and even more so than Connery. The bit where Bond parks the car was typical literary bond. Its like Craig is possesed as the character and this is so refreshing.

The casting on the whole is great , though occasionally i did have to strain to hear lines from some of the foriegn cast members. The cinematography is sharp and dramatic.

Ones does feel a loss in not having a Q or Moneypenny but then these excesses are purposely absent with the hope of future inclusion. Craig really is a tour de force and we have to keep coming back to him because he is simply amazing and its a joz watching him in motion.

There are some things which didn't sit well with me but its very muhc like the first Star Wars Movie in so much as CR is setting the scene for whats to come and we have to thank the producers for giving us some character driven dialogue and not the usual off the shelf formula.

I do recommend that if people get a ticket they'd better buy 2 because your bound to want to watchi it over again.
