Hello dear Bond fans. I have a question for the people who have already seen CR. How is Richard Branson's cameo done? Does he have any speaking lines? Does he play himself? Does he annoy in a similar manner to Madonna?

It's a thankfully brisk moment. No lines, and very quickly cut.

I was very pleased with that level of restaint - anyone who doesn't recognise him (imagine, say, Bond viewers in 40 years) would just see a quick shot of 'some guy being scanned at airport security'. Compared to what could have been done, it was fine.

Which I 'm afraid can't be said for MGW's cameo. Again... Someone shoot him!

Yeah, all very well done and simply cut. People who don't know him, wont know him and groan.

Those who do will, for the split second, giggle and say "There's Richard Branson", or "Was that Branson?".


A little nod, but nothing as awful as Madonna.

It's practically subliminal, but because he's such a recognisable chap it sort of gets burnt onto your retina! Rather funny.

MGW was quite amusingly placed- although was he supposed to be at the poker table too? I didn't see him.

Or me, today. I had to Google "Richard Branson" to find out who this guy that people keep mentioning is.

As with much of the movie's (very smart) humour, the Branson glimpse got a warm giggle...from the half who noticed him. Everyone else went to look - and found they'd already missed it.

Wilson's, though, got no reaction at all, presumably because (despite many, many interviews) because he's not recognisable outside the fan base. So no biggie to anyone but us!

To be honest, if you aren't looking for it, you will probably miss it (as the action is going on over on the other side of the screen). All the people I went to see it with missed it. The MGW cameo is fun, but people not in the know won't get it (and that probably included them also - although think my wife may have got it).

I didn't know he was going to be in it at all, and then for half a second suddenly he's in shot - I was like "Was that RICHARD BRANSON!??" and then spent the rest of the scene looking for a Virgin plane. It turned up within 5 minutes!

Considering that I had no idea who he was beforehand I didn't pick up on it. Michael G. Wilson's is another matter.

Branson isn't as well known in the US as in the UK, but even I caught his cameo before he turned around and showed his face...

I was like "op-there's that mop of hair blonder than Craig's..."

Branson's cameo was hilarious. I loved how the camera just seemed to drift right to him...

i would have liked for the camera to have stayed maybe an extra second before the cut, but still it was cool to see him.

I still don't understand what was going on during the Wilson cameo.

He is intended to be playing a corrupt chief of the Montenegrin police bribed by Le Chiffre to complicate things for his opponents. Mathis provides evidence of the corruption to Wilson's deputy, and therefore has him arrested.

Branson cameo still took me out of the action of the scene.. in the time it took me to go "ohhh hey, is that whats-his-face?" I got taken out of the action of the scene.. hate crap like this, same with the damn Ford, and the other product placements..

I must say, I missed both - Branson and Wilson - only due to this forum I realized that they both had their cameos.
On the other hand I enjoyed Martin Campell's one

Well, of course we had all had a big discussion on here about his cameo before the movie was released, so we were looking out for him at the time.
