About the Thai version. Where does it get the bottom graphics from? Such as Moore in the car.

I think that's all original art made just for the Thai sheet. That's typical of the Thai posters (and one of the reasons I really like them).Originally posted by Blue Eyes

The Advance-A poster is by far the best.
My wife is in Thailand at this very moment, but has no clue about movie posters, Bond or otherwise, so I couldn't organise her to shop for any that could be on sale around the traps.

As to the US one sheet...I think the absence of Mayday can be explained thusly:
In the States, there is a certain market that may have objected to Mayday and would have been turned off by that poster. So rather than make two posters...one with her and one without...they made one without. Their loss.
As for the DVD covers....well, everything Bond got new art when they came out as SEs...even the VHS tapes. I suspect we can look forward to a new round of new art when the new editions come out in October.
As for the photo on the DVD for AVTAK being from Octopussy...how can you tell?
Great work Zencat...as usual, but still wonderful!

Interesting pickup there, Tedley.Originally posted by Tedley King
I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but was Grace Jones' name in the film 'Grace Jones'? That's what the poster suggests. The UK one. It says 'James Bond........' 'Grace Jones does it for kicks'. I thought May Day does it for kicks?
Also, not only is May Day missing in the final US one-sheet, but it must say something about the character of "The Bond Girl" if it took that long for her to be recognised in the advertising.
It's clear, while watching the movie, that more emphasis should have been attributed to May Day and make Stacey Sutton a minor role, as the earlier posters seem to preempt. Certainly would have made for a better movie.

Because he had the face lift between Octopussy and AVTAK making less piercing eyes, and also had the facial mole removed.

Yep, he wore one at the Zorin party.Originally posted by Double-Oh-Zero
Excellent stuff, zencat. I like that UK one-sheet myself. It's really simple, but still interesting and cool. I don't think Roger wore a white tux in AVTAK though, did he? Did he wear one at Zorin's party?
Isn't it about time PB wore a white tux?

And thank you, boeserzwilling, for posting this image. I was looking for a pic of this style. This was also used in the UK, I believe.Originally posted by boeserzwilling

A similar combination between the two posters appeared as the final theatrical poster in the United Kingdom.

Let me explain:
The Swedish Fleming book For your eyes only. Had the title From a view to a kill since the novel From a view to a kill is included in that book.
So when the movie company in Sweden was to release For your eyes only as a movie they took the same title as For your eyes onlynot noing that 4 years later that title would be back
Like This.
Fleming book:
"For your eyes only" became "From a view to a kill"
Eon Movie
"For your eyes only" became "From a view to a kill"
"A View to a kill" became "Living target"
Hope to have cleared things out for you.

A viev to a kill = Living target

As for how to tell that the Roger shot on the AVTAK DVD cover is from Octopussy, besides the whole facelift/missing mole clue...Sean, Roger, Tim, & Pierce all look slightly different from film to film-hairstyle change, weight change, age. Also, that particular shot of Roger from Octopussy was used alot in conjunction with the film.

That must make Swedish people visiting the USA really confused when it comes to those TNN Bond marathons.

Confused??
We deffenetly know the original titles for the movies.
Im glad that we only have subtitles in our country.
Many other european countrys have even the spoken words translated and dubbed.
But what is an TNN bond marathon?
