It was part of the first pictures that came out (Bond with his scars in front of the sea and with M, Bond in front of the computer screen, etc.)

thats a photo taken of Daniel by the artist Sam Taylor Wood. A little while before he was announced as Bond - She got several actors to think of something that made them cry - i think - and then photographed them. very actorly thepian thing to do - but the results are powerful in some cases.. particularly Daniel's one.
