Should we have one of these? The forum will probably be complete chaos from tomorrow onwards, so rather than everyone posting their own personal Big Important Review of the film, should we just collect them all into one thread?

the film delivers!

I'm not going to write a full review, but I'll just give you a few thoughts.

1) The film is front loaded with some terrifically enjoyable action sequences, and I'd heard many critics complain about how the film suddenly slows down. Well for me, this was the point where I went from enjoying the film, to loving it. The casino, the locations, the luxurious, romantic atmosphere... and best of all the romance with Vesper. This is where it felt to me like a true Bond film.

2) Emotion. For the first time since.. God knows when... you believe in these characters and you feel for them. The dialogue between Bond and Vesper is charming, witty, playful, and sexy. There is just enough for you to believe that these 2 characters would completely fall for each other. And as the story unfolds, it becomes genuinely touching.

3) Craig exudes cool. The way he carries himself, the way he walks, the man is just [censored]ing cool :) And he is so relaxed in the role, and such a good actor, that he carries off scenes that lesser actors would have just ruined. I can't imagine any previous Bond pulling off the really tender scene in the shower. The man has charisma.

That's all I'll say for now, it really is a brilliant entry in the series.

I'm a projectionist... Our 3 prints were delivered today, so we had a big screening of it tonight. I enjoyed it so much I might have to watch it tomorrow night as well.

What excitement, what anticipation, what a fabulous night!

Leicester Square was packed and buzzing from early in the afternoon and the place lit up when the stars started making their appearance. I passed by to experience a piece of the excitement and whet my appetite until my screening at 23:30pm. Central London really had gone Bond mad and it was a very proud day to be a bond fan.

As for the film, when the lights finally were dimmed at 23:40 and the theatre erupted in cheers, the moment finally arrived!
I cannot stress how well put together the end product is. The story, the characters, the changes in pace and the fantastic locales all blend together offering a lavish result which we havent seen in decades in the Bond franchise. Daniel Craig takes charge right from the word "go" and his flair and delivery is really enjoyable. This guy really is James Bond and really seems to be enjoying it!

That

With people seeing Royale before me, It is the ultimate torture for me. Waiting till December 7 is worse than Le Chiffre's rope fettish.

Oh, btw congrats! Glad you enjoyed it.

A crackingly superlative film all the way through.

A splendid Premiere evening to boot, we started with the cocktail reception, had a wander around the central bit in the park area and having watched the film, finished the evening off in Cipriano's (UK version of the New York restaurant in TCA??)

There is a lot in this film and certainly it will benefit from a second and maybe even third viewing.

It most definitely deserved all of it's +tive reviews. And Jonathan Ross' (UK film reviewer - who also raved over it) comment about the card game being too long - certainly not. It had to be that length as it was very central to the whole film.

Everyone in the Odeon West End loved it.

I daresay a full review will only come after the second viewing.

Is it perfect? No. For me, the first 45 minutes or so seemed very much like a Brosnan film, albeit with some Jason Bourne and extremely violent elements thrown in. I was starting to worry I'd overhyped myself into a state of frenzy about the film. Then it all changed and the story and characters started to flow. This is like five Bond films in one there's so much to digest. There are a few dodgy moments, but many classic ones. It takes a fair while to get your head round it all. Daniel Craig is amazing, though. Baggy eyes, craggy face, sticking out ears are all in place - and he's still the coolest Bond since Connery by a distance. He pulls off the menace, cockiness, sex appeal, vulnerability - but also the elegance. By the end of the title sequence there is no doubt that the man is Bond, and that this franchise is back where it belongs.

It was a fantastic premiere, the best Bond film in decades - and even better was I got to meet some of CBN's lovely members. :)

I saw it last night and I haven't stopped talking about it yet.
Danie Craig was very believable and quite frankly, a fabulous choice - none of the previous Bond's could have done CR to the same effect. Clive Owen (who was my favourite) would have been really lost!

Eva Green and Caterina Murino are quite simply both stunning. Mads Mikkleson was a worthy 'villain' and he had a very cold stare. It was great to see the DB5 again and the DBS has to be one of the most beautiful cars ever made.

I was surprised it made 12A as I thought it was quite dark and violent - the torture scene left nothing to the imagination and I found myself cringing. The bit where Bond was poisoned was well done too.

Overall, I thought it was fantastic and I think Daniel Craig deserves the praise he now seems to be getting. Eon took a big risk with this film but I'm pleased to say, it's paid off for them.
