WTF?

Firstly I've advised her to give all info to the police, but then another poster got me thinking...

If the CnB lot are the headquarters of the CR boycott, isn't it a bit ironic that they are going to watch the press screening and disrupt it?

Boycotting the film by being amongst the first to actually watch it?

[censored] these pricks. what kind of sad little people would do that. lame beyond belief. sad and also basically creepy. get a life. no-one cares. if i actually saw one of these people protesting or puffed up in some saddo red-faced outrage i probably wouldnt heisitate to knock them out, stamp their heads into a kerb and put them in a coma. DC style. these tragic dweebs need a breadknife through the ribs.

its so wildly uncool..most journos would laugh / spit on them.. i wouldnt put it past the tabloids to do it tho.. but this is probably a wind up.

when this film comes out these little, deeply unfunny, wretches are going to look stupid. however ..such was the lame vitriol and sickening amount of trash DC had to cope with at the start..i actually am beginning to fear the same again. the mindless, heartless, ruthless UK press don't miss a trick or a chance to shine their ignorance and spit their venom at any particular target. screw em.
this film needs to rock otherwise these brat scum will be all over it. they love distress, percieved failure, the loud ignorant minority. It's wrong i know -but i fear the stupid.

whatever.. to me DC has honour and grace - the way he has coped with it all. i hope he knocks it out of the park and unites filmgoers and cements his status as an icon in the making .. he's cool as [censored] and for all the swearing and bravado.. mostly comes across as a gentleman, a calm nice dude .. a feel for him against these retards. i just hope he's sitting somewhere knowing he made something special. He's both a cult dangerous actor, and someone who has that audience conection, that common touch ( see layer cake )of a true star.. i so hope CR is the film he deserves it to be. it would be a great shame if this wasnt a brilliant popular film. the idea that it might not be, that the idiots will crawl all over the collosus they have manged to take down, upsets me. it will be a tragedy frankly. [censored] the haters.

Why are we even discussing this still, still, still on here? All people are doing are giving them more publicity.

God.

Whether we ignore them or not, they won't go away. That's just the level of fanaticism we're talking about.

But in this case, the police will handle it. Given that, I hope they go through with it.

You never know, seeing it might actually change their minds. In any case, any hubbub they cause will only add to the publicity.

I might respond with a 5:12am - WTF?! But yeah - these boycotters can get all the publicity they want, but I'm sick of hearing about them - they're not going to create any damage to the success of the movie. They are simply naive to think that anyone cares about their little stunts any more. Once the movie is released, hopefully we'll hear the end of this lot... and not a moment too soon!

If I wake up tomorrow and read about a bunch of angry Bond fans rioting in the streets of London over Daniel Craig as James Bond, then I am going to have the best laugh I've had in years.

This seems like it will end up as a non-story though. I just can't imagine the Craig Not Bond crowd being all that large.

Think about it. Some of these opinionated boycotters have spent months upon months and hours upon hours typing endless tra-la-la and la-de-da...it would be a joke if at the end of it all, they decided to stay away from the movie altogether.

I had the thought today that if some of them have spent a year trying to disrupt message boards, I wouldn't put it past them to see the movie in theatres several times just so they can disrupt people's viewing experiences.

If that's true, I'm glad I'll be seeing CR in a small town presumably devoid of their ilk.

Good grief, what a bunch of nerds!

Did anyone hear that radio interview with that Brosnan-crazed chick that didn't know crap about Bond?

These aren't even Bond fans!

So sick of this crap!

One aspect to consider is the publicity they are bringing the movie. The controversy will make people who normally don't care about Bond curious to see the new one.

From what I understand, someone from the "press" who was invited to the screening e-mailed CnB and gave them details of where the screening would take place and invited them to protest or something along those lines. Who this was if found out in time should be banned from the screening and should be permanently blacklisted and is a disgrace! What they did is [censored]ed up! :)

Absolutely! This makes it even worse: a journalist stirring up the controversy. Now this would be a story I would like to see reported on.

That sounds more plausible, because Joe Public can't just wander in off the street to these screenings, or at least that isn't the case in the USA. Don't you have to show press credentials or be on a pre-approved list to get in the door?
I predict nobody, or almost nobody will turn up to this. Even the nutters have jobs to go to (how else do they pay for their internet connection?!), and most of them won't be close enough to the screening to attend anyway. (Aren't most press screenings done in the morning, when movie theaters are otherwise empty?)
There is a BIG, BIG difference between saying stuff on the internet and then acting on it in real life. Its a laugh and a wheeze for most of these people; everyone talks the talk on internet message boards, but when it comes down to "real life", they'll leave it alone.

I heard from some highly placed Hollywood types that most critics are told what kind of review to write by their editors. Some are paid to write only good reviews, some paid to write bad.

As for CnB they are minor annoyance. If they show up at all. I suspect they mostly talk the talk.

All talk - who put the "spin" in "spinster"?

But if they do it, a lovely day out for The Fat Spinsters. Big and sweaty hogfatties standing out in the cold protesting about a fillum.

Who gives a damn?

If there is any truth to this it is probably some hack trying to create a story like "Blond Bond Haters Defect" or "New Bond Fails To Convince Fans". Most likely a gutter press stunt... if there is any truth in it.

Anyone going to the early screenings (I have tickets for the 11.30pm screening after the World Premiere)and witnesses any off these pathetic :) trying to spoil it for everyone else should photograph them - so that they can be identified.
If they don't like the idea of DC as 007, they should just stay away - or, they could just give him a chance - the film has been produced by exactly the same company as all the other 20 films - they have picked DC to be Bond - lets just get on with it and enjoy it.
