Since DC is making a trilogy of Bond movies (Hopefully) would anyone else want to see Campbell to direct all three of them? I mean, i dont think anyone could capture the same style of CR except Campbell so if eon are making a darker (hopfully fleming ~ Casino Royale, Risico, The Property of a Lady?) trilogy it makes sense to have the same director?

So my answer is Yes :)

I think Campbell's already said he's definitely not doing the next one, hasn't he?

Read that, too. On the other hand - he could easily deny it again or change his mind.

Something about the lack of info on Bond 22 and its director makes me suspect that Campbell is coming back. Michell was his replacement first but when word got out that CR really had turned out great, Campbell wanted to be back in. And so...

At least, that

That's what I thought as well.

I'd rather see Matthew Vaughn go behind the lens. He's got a history with Craig already, and has proven he can make expensive looking films on the cheap.

Every bond directors contract should say; no any of that fancy matrix stuff or it's "k thx, bye" for you.

As for Campbell, I'd first wait and see if he can direct his first James Bond movie since Goldeneye. But I like the idea of one director directing at least few bond movies in a row.

Then again, new director would bring in his(or hers) aspect, hopefully not mixing the stew too much from the recipe, that hopefully works for Casino Royale.

Don't have strong feeling on this one right now, but I'm sure I will (one way or the other)by the end of Nov 17th...

Scott is too much of an auteur for Bond. And he likes to produce as well - can

Wasn't that Campbell quote published when Bond 22 was schedule for May 2008? I took his comments that he didn't want to finish CR and then almost immediately begin work on the next film. He wanted a longer break.

With Bond 22 pushed back to November 2008 Campbell may have changed his mind.

I'll wait on making my mind up on this one until I've actually seen CR. It looks good so far, but even just from the trailers I find some of the 'soldiers' shown a bit cartoonish. Can't really explain this properly.

Anyway, can't really judge this without seeing CR first.

I'm fairly confident I would be really satisfied if Campbell would stay, but I don't know if it'll happen or not. I'll give a tentative 'yes'.

Campbell to return for Bond 22? '...well, never say never again.'

I know there's a bias towards British directors, but how about someone like John Woo on Antoine Fuqua?

I think M:I2 and not being near as good as he used to be should disqualify Woo.

It was published before they announced the Summer 08 date. At that time they may have been gunning for a 2007 release (as most of us were speculating) when he said no because as you noted he wanted a longer break. Now he's saying "never say never" -- so given the longer break, he's probably considering it at the least.

I think it's premature to call this a trilogy. Craig could possibly do more as his contract probably has options like Brosnan's did.

given campbell's recent "never say never" statements and the 18 month production window being extended to 24, I think it's safe to say he's at least expressed a change of heart and is considering a return. Like craig, I get the impression he too was not immediatly convinced about bond 21, but maybe he's had more fun than he expected?

I was going to say that but you guys beat me to it. I think it's a distinct possibility that Campbell returns since we haven't heard anything about a new director since Michell walked away. Personally, I would love to have Campbell return. GoldenEye was great and Casino Royale looks terrific as well. He can do Bond so why not have him do a third 007 movie? Whether or not Craig's films are a trilogy or simply two that are connected along with a stand alone film, I say if Campbell wants to direct them, then by all means go ahead with him.

I don't think that Campbell has been ruled out yet, in fact I think he's a very likely candidate (especially after the date change) but for some reason, I have a feeling that we'll be hearing Matt Vaughn's name come up.

I'm not so happy with GE so I better wait until I've seen CR (a good trailer doesn't tell us much). But, as someone else said, having a director for several Bondfilms can be good idea. Four different directors for the Brosnan era was clearly a big mistake.

i would like to see him return. the only non-bond movie i have seen from him that was good in my opinion was mask of zorro but he seems to be a good bond director so if he can stay with that he should.

And I would be okay with that. I don't think Vaughn's style is that far off from how Campbell did GoldenEye or how he's doing Casino Royale. He would be a good successor to Campbell - for Craig anyway.

I would love to see Campbell direct all of Craig's Bond movies. He's definately the best director to direct a Bond film in my opinion.

As for the next director, I think Christopher Nolan should direct the next Bond flick. He has been known to perfect his movies (cough cough Batman Begins) and he can make some awesome action scenes.

And I like the idea for the second Bond film to be called either Risico or The Property of a Lady, since it will be a direct continuation from Casino Royale.

I would like to see someone else take a crack at it. Doug Petrie directed some innovative TV eps and seems a good guy. Why not give him a chance? It's been discussed on other threads but Steven Speilberg has been wanting to direct JB. I'm down with that.

I love the idea of Christopher Nolan, but I think he's for too much of a perfectionist to direct a Bond film, no way would the producers give him all of the creative control he deserves.
