I don't think Skyfall being successful is enough reason to B*tch about it.

- Dr. Christmas Jones is my favorite Bond girl. I can't help it.

Whoa! That's a biggie! Love it!

The cheesy, OTT films of the Hamilton & Gilbert era's are the reason Bond is such a pop culture icon to this day.

Good point - I've always been more partial to the Lotus Esprit than the Aston Martin, for an example.

And now, Daniel Craig & Sam Mendes; new era, new icons.

The Miami airport set-piece in CR'06 is one of the series' best action sequences. Starts modest and ends big.

Apparently some people don't like it. Don't know why...

My wife absolutely does not get her appeal either, though we are both of the same mind regarding the wondrous charms of Ms Blackman and Paluzzi.

Ditto. Too strident in OHMSS. Bond should have let her drown.

The underwater scenes in Thunderball are not boring. They add to the ambiance and atmosphere of the film.

Peter Hunt should not have had George Baker dub George Lazenby's voice during his "Sir Hilary Bray" impersonation at Piz Gloria. We should've heard Lazenby's voice instead.

I prefer TMWTGG to LALD, MR to TSWLM and OP to FYEO.

I actually enjoy FYEO's PTS with the helicopter stunts where Bond battles Blofeld for one last time.

I also enjoy FYEO's final scene where Max the parrot chats with the Iron Lady.

If I were Bond, I would've picked Lupe over Pam at the end of LTK.

Neither Norman Burton's nor John Terry's Felix Leiters are bad. Terry only gets about 2 brief scenes so he doesn't really get a chance to do enough to fairly evaluate his performance.

I wish both FYEO and GE had been scored by John Barry and starred Timothy Dalton as Bond.

I prefer DAD to TWINE.

I prefer Caroline Bliss to Samantha Bond.

I love every minute of Octopussy

I like the invisible car. Madonna doesn't bother me (she's in it for not even a minute)

Whistle in TMWTGG is appropriate for the movie it's in. Same with the Tarzan yell

I don't dislike it, but I don't find it that convincing. For a film (and series) that demands the suspension of disbelief, ironically I find the time frame for the airport set-piece to be jarring. Bond is playing poker in the evening in Nassau, then has a dalliance with Solange, then flies to Miami, then attends the Body Worlds exhibition, then makes it back to the airport. There are crowds absolutely everywhere. Just what time exactly is it by now? Secondly, the music during the airport action is an example of "more-is-less" composing that I think is evident in some of the scenes Arnold scored during his tenure. This may be an unorthodox opinion, but the music undermines the dramatic tension to my ears.

I would agree, especially with all of the films from Tomorrow Never Dies on. A lot of the times, for me, it's not necessarily the music itself but the volume at which it is played in relation to everything else on the screen. I get that it's supposed to make the action feel more intense, but all it really does is overwhelm everything else that's going on onscreen and, at times, distracts from it as well.

Here's one that's "unorthodox".  This harkens back to my very first post on Commander Bond.  A view of Bond SO unorthodox that it got a bunch of people angry with me and many thought I was simply a troll and not a true Bond "fan".  Based on certain convictions, I would very much prefer Bond didn't sleep with any woman who was not his wife.  This would therefore limit this aspect of Bond's character to Tracy Bond.  I don't mind romance or beauty or lady companions or villains on his adventures, but there you go...there's my very unusual Bond opinion.  And I'll bet I'm virtually alone on that, but that's okay.  I don't mind swimming against the tide.

Not puting this out for debate.  In fact I won't debate it.  I did that like nine years ago.  Just adding to the list of "unorthodox" Bond opinions, which this DEFINITELY is.

You are advocating sex outside marriage. Once Tracy was his wife, he didn't sleep with her.

Hello CommanderBond Community, I am new here, first post. Glad to join in.

Some people dislike License to Kill--too violent, too "Scarface" with evil members of the big time coke trade turning on each other, no thrilling 007 keeps the world from blowing up with seconds to spare ending--but I think it was great acting on Tim Dalton's part.

He made it a really personal film and I believed he had a great friendship and something really special and at stake with the Leiters on their wedding day. He gets obsessive with getting justice for them and the use of the Felix Lighter at the end to dispatch Sanchez was a great visual pun.

Carey Lowell was inexperienced, but a pretty good actress, was good on Law and Order later on in her life. She was tall, looked athletic like a swimmer, and shined up nicely with her makeover in South America. Did not overplay or underplay the role.

She and Tim had a great moment on the boat at sunset, after fleeing the bar shootout. And Tim takes the series in a bold new direction when he asks her to help him. Yes, the great 007 needs help because the odds are so great against him, and maybe this helped lead to stronger women who are capable of giving him that help--now we have Moneypenny the field agent and sniper, Bond and Eva Green were a total team for the most part in Casino Royale, except for the tragic ending, Bond and M even team up to hold off the bad guys and Javier Bardem. Yay, Judy Dench!!

Just a few thoughts,

WPPKM over and out.

Thanks for sharing this picture. I always liked this scene, but it goes so fast I never can tell  what all the different costumes are like. Now I know there're even a bear and a elephant included! :D

Gobi, that is hilarious.

Moore-Bond always did have the most interesting little characters flitting about the edges of the movie, whether it was the drunk guy from TSWLM-MR-FYEO, the hotel employee with the "oh, a surprise!" champagne from TMWTGG, or (my personal favorite) the old guy driving the slow chicken-truck in LALD.

Did not enjoy Skyfall this time around. It's technically well made and the dialogue is funny but that's about it.
