I just checked Amazon.co.uk and noticed that THE MAN WITH THE RED TATTOO now shows a 3 to 5 week backorder. Does this mean the first edition is already sold out? Sold out in a week? It's very likely as Hodder typically does very small print runs of the hardcover and it looks like TMWTRT is one of Benson's best sellers. (I wonder if CBN had anything to do with that? )
I wonder if they'll do a second edition? As far as I know the only hardcover Benson to go into a second was TWINE.

I kind of wish the publishers (or Glidrose) would figure this out and support these books with a few ads in the Book Review sections of major newspapers.
Haven't seen any in the UK press. The only mention oThe Man with the Red Tattoo I've noticed is the review in The Observer. That proclaimed the narrative style as as "humdrum" and the story "requisite".

I've read somewhere (can't remember where) that TMWTRT was one of the quickest selling Benson books. Not having an ego or anything, but I do think that the dawning of major Bond news services such as CommanderBond.Net have brought a lot of extra publicity to the novel.
If you consider we top one million visitors a month and we've run articles and it's our Must Buy Item, I'm sure that all adds up to a few extra sales!

Just goes to show you what a little advertising can do. I kind of wish the publishers (or Glidrose) would figure this out and support these books with a few ads in the Book Review sections of major newspapers. They did this for the Gardner books...for awhile. I'm surprised when sometimes even Bond fans don't know there are new Bond books out there.
