Bond reaches for his gun.

Malick swings the heavy door to close on Bond who slips his foot in it just in time. He pulls his gun and is throwing his body weight against it, he forces the door open.

Inside, Malick grabs Sable and has a gun to his head in no time.

Bond pulls his gun, aims it at Malick.

It’s amazing how a movie will make you NOT want to finish writing something.

I began my Brosnan-starring version of OHMSS months before Casino Royale hit the screens.

I could see it clear as day in my mind. After Goldeneye, Brosnan had convinced the producers to bring some of the grit back to Bond and to remake OHMSS with some revisions.

I was having a lot of fun writing it and couldn’t wait to see it through.

Then…I saw ‘Casino Royale’. And that picture perfect vision I had of Brosnan’s gritty Bond vanished.

Daniel Craig took his seat in the captain’s chair and I was unable to finish.

Well, I recently found my notes on how I was going to finish the script and thought I’d post them (not that anyone’s been losing sleep over it – but still, I thought it might be fun to see)

So here is what happens after Bond sets off to capture Blofeld (all of this, of course, will make more sense if you’d read everything else)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Bond (as Bray) goes to Piz Gloria and meets Blofeld for the first time (in my mind, by the way, Blofeld was to be played by Viggo Mortenson) and Bond (Bray) begins his ‘investigation’ in to the background of Blofeld.

2. At Blofeld’s ‘Allergy Clinic’ were to be a bevy of beautiful women (like the book/movie). Only this time, they were fashion models, gorgeous women who come in to contact with the elite and beautiful people of the world.

3. I was going to try and drop the whole hypnosis programming of the women angle and instead have the deadly toxins be inside of the women. The ‘vitamins’ they were taking were partially that, but also carried dormant versions of airborne viruses, waiting for the right chemicals to activate them. They could only be released with the taking of a ‘vitamin supplement’ that Blofeld was going to give them…

4. …for when they finally left the clinic to attend the various fashions shows they were scheduled to be in around the world (London, Paris, New York, Milan, Madrid, etc) By being at these shows, they would take their supplement, the toxins would seep through their pores, they would become sick, and the viruses would be airborne. The virus would then go on to quickly infect those around and spread like wildfire, thus creating havoc in major cities around the globe.

5. Blofeld would then hold the world at ransom with the threat of a second wave of attacks.

6. Bond would be caught/found out by Blofeld, make a daring escape, run in to Tracy down in the village, she would save him, big chase scene, she gets captured.

7. Bond makes a plea to MI-6 to help her; they are tangled up in red tape. Bond turns to Draco who not only wants to help Bond, but is livid that his daughter has been taken.

8. Draco gets together several crime families together and they launch an assault against Piz Gloria.

9. Bond finds Tracy and then goes after Blofeld who seemingly dies in the whole bobsled chase.

10. Bond and Tracy’s wedding – they drive off, and they are being followed

11. Three men in the car – Blofeld in the back, one man driving and one with a gun – Cameron, the man Bond is chasing in the beginning of the film

12. We see the death of Tracy, Bond uttering the line ‘We have all the time in the world…”

13. Back to the present, Bond of the rooftop with Cameron. Bond explains that he killed the driver of the car four years ago in Pakistan. He killed Blofeld eight years ago in Japan, with his bare hands. Now he’s going to finally close this chapter by killing Cameron. Cameron pleads for his life, Bond leans forward and whispers something to Cameron. When Bond steps back, Cameron looks confused and then Bond pulls the trigger, emptying the gun of all its bullets – click, click, click…

14. He stands there for a moment in silence when a voice calls from behind him – “That’s enough, 007.” -- It’s the present-day M (Judi Dench) She is with about 20 MI-6 agents, their guns trained on Bond.

15. Bond looks on the verge of collapse. He drops his gun, puts his hands up. M tells him to put his hands down and she turns to her second-in-command “Full sweep of the area. Dispose of the body, make sure he was never here.”

16. The agents swarm around Bond, removing Cameron.

17. M and Bond have a conversation that was going to be something like this:

M: And how does it feel, Bond? Do you feel the sting on vengeance? Have you made everything right by killing the trigger man?

Bond shakes his head.

BOND: She’s still gone. I thought…it’s be different…
M: Consider yourself lucky. Not everyone has the ability to strike back at the thing that killed their loved ones. Some of us don’t get that luxury. It’s hard to strike back at cancer while you watch it wither your husband away into nothing. At least your enemy had a face…

Bond looks at her, shocked at this reveal of personal information.

BOND: I never knew—
M: Nor should you.

A beat.

BOND: So what happens now? A few months locked down? Out of sight?
M: What you did here was irresponsible. But, and correct me if I’m wrong, it’s over now?
BOND: It is.
M: Good. Get yourself back to London. There are things brewing in the Sudan that require your touch.

Bond starts to walk away.

M: What did you say to him, before you killed him?

Bond hesitates.

BOND: I told him what I told Tracy the day she died in my arms. I told him that we have all the time in the world.
M: And why would you say that to him?

Bond looks at her, says nothing and walks off.

END CREDITS

So there you have it. The script I am seemingly unable to finish.

Maybe someday I’ll get that fire to finish it off but as I’m in the process of working on three other scripts as well as a web series, this is waaaaay down on the list.

Thanks to those that took the time to read ‘All The Time In The World’ when I first posted it back in the day.
