You need to factor in that they only printed 5000 copies. Print runs of the UK hardcovers of Benson and later Gardner were all very small.The British Commonwealth hardback edition of Doubleshot sold 5,000 copies.

They pretty much sold as many as they printed, as zencat says.
Just that by the end of the Gardners, they didn't print very many (COLD had a UK hardback run of about eleven or something) and, whilst there was an increase for the Bensons, again those tailed off.
On a positive spin, they sold all their copies. Very rarely would you see any remaindered.
