How about if James Bond goes to Niagara Falls? Just read that there's an $800 million casino going to be built by 2004. World-class, super hotel, et cetera et cetera. And Fleming had an idea of Bond fighting someone underneath the Falls. Just the sort of vacation Bond would go on! What d'ya think?

Good idea, General (and Ian). I remember reading years ago about Fleming having this idea, and I've alway thought having Bond on both the Canadian and the U.S. sides of the falls would make an interesting contrast. (For those who don't know the U.S. side of the falls are rather sleazy. The Canadian side is simply beautiful and awe inspiring.) I think I'd rather see this idea in a book rather than a film, but it would work either way.

The New York side is sleazy?!? All the gangs go to the NY side and the honeymooners go to the Ontarian side? Seriously, though, how could such a beautiful spot be so different on either side? (Haven't been there, by the way.)

No, it's more the cheap honeymooners goto the New York side. It's not bad on the NY side just way touristy.

The falls are an amazing sight. I would love to see this sight in a Bond picture.

I've been to the falls many times on the Canadian side. It is beautiful. However the falls is the only good thing in Niagara beside the Casino. Still 007 could pay a visit. They have ferry's that go close to the falls called "The Maid of the Mist". It is quite exciting to go on because you get soaked. I could see a Bond fighting someone their.

I like this idea. I myself have been to the Falls a few times. It would be even better if Bond could fight the baddie at night when the Fall's colourful lights come on. Or is that only in the winter? Anyway, he would be able to pay a visit to Planet Hollywood while he's there.

Couldn't he just visit the Planet Hollywood in Des Moines? That place has become such a chain restaraunt that Bond might as well go to McDonald's.

(I mean this post as a slam on Planet Hollywood, not your idea OO0. At one point Planet Hollywood might have been a pretty good idea.)

Well, I actually meant it as Pierce Brosnan going to Planet Hollywood, not the character of Bond. Pierce would donate something used in the film, I suppose. I guess Bond going there isn't a bad idea, though. Sorry about the mix-up.

I don't think Bond would ever go to a Planet Hollywood. . .the producers wouldn't let him anywhere near a place so tacky--and so associated with bankruptcy, celebrity egos, and a flat-out bad idea.
