Carlton TV has shown a behind the scenes documentry showing what was being filmed at a disused airfied in Wiltshire.
Dark Horizons reported on the filming The facility was converted into a massive ice set for an action sequence involving the Bond Aston Martin which was being chased by sports cars with rear mounted chain guns. Vic Armstrong indicated they'd be there for six days of shooting which would amount to only about 30 seconds of film. The set itelf was a flat ice sheet with dressed up 'mountains' and 'ice boulders' all over the place, whilst there were shots of the Aston Martin being put though it's paces with gunfire sparks coming off.
Seemingly, they're filming pick-up shots that were missed in Iceland.

It's only a guess, but I think there's a chance that these pick-up shots are going to include Pierce.
You know, I have one big question. How the hell are they going to marry all of these scenes in the Editing Room? How is Hollywell Bay going to look like Hawaii? And how is the UK going to look like Iceland etc... It's going to take a lot of work I feel!

Hmm, as the world is given more and more access to images of the rest of the world through the internet and satellite programming et al, so it seems that the producers feel that any old thing can represent their geographical needs.
I really feel that, with the amount of coverage that the Bond films get during their production period, the producers cannot honestly believe that they are going to get away with the England for Korea and Cornwall for Hawaii shots that are currently in the can. If they were producing some little known film, then fine, no one will have followed the production. But the Bond films are given scrutinised coverage. Come the time of release, everyone will be saying, "Yeah, they filmed that in Didcot" and, "Yeah, the Bahamas shot there, it's Blackpool - oh well."
In the present climate for access to information, never more has it been necessary to actually go to the places that they are trying to represent, I believe.
