we've had three Benson books since The World is not Enough and I was just amazed at how easily he can turn them out when a film takes so long, even when there's no film to go see in the theater there will be a new novel to read....

I have to concur Zencat! Never Dream Of Dying kept me from going batty last year. And over time I've managed to read a few books to keep me thorougly involved with Bond.
Thankfully I never experienced the six year gap. After seeing all the films on video I just presumed they'd stopped making them. I remember when GoldenEye was announced I said to my dad "I never thought they'd make a Bond film in my life-time"!

Yes, thank goodness for the books. I love having a new Bond adventure every year. The books are what kept me sane during the infamous "six year gap."
Funny, those same books are keeping me insane during the not-so-infamous 'two year gap'! ^_^

Ian Fleming wrote Casino Royale in just eight weeks. And he wrote a book per year. Does Benson do a book per year? Or every two years? And he has the novelisations to do, too. I admire his skill to come up with interesting scenarios for Bond after the adventures Fleming, Amis, and Gardner put Bond through!
